In the time that Lilian had managed to get to know Amethyst to a degree, she had also noticed that the two could hardly go about towns freely. Ammy was a literal walking legend, a myth that was as real as the witch. Others might stare or even the tale and attempt to cause harm upon the scaled friend. Lily couldn't risk that. After a few encounters she was told of by the dragon herself, it would be best they kept a low profile for the most part.
Luckily, the feline was more than eager to take up the task of figuring out how to get her tall friend out in public without there being too much fuss. She had read of various runes and spells that could thwart unwanted eyes or blend into the surrounding area. The problem was that most magic didn't work on Amethyst herself. Applying a spell hardly did anything. Maybe her scales kept her protected? Going onto another idea, Lily had grabbed as much fabric as she could get her little mittens on and went to work in her apothecary room.
Just because a spell may not work as intended on a dragon doesn't mean said dragon can't wear an enchanted item to apply the same effects. It had taken a few hours of studying, learning, and concentrating to get things as good as she could. Then it was onto finding the right books for the spells! She hadn't exactly sewn often without using magic to restore damage to clothing so it was a little rough starting out. Once she had found the proper texts and reviewed them carefully, things were set in motion.
The room almost darkened around her as she felt the swell of magic flow through her body. Her hand lifted, palm open to the sky as she carefully read each line. The supposed spell was to attach to an article of clothing that would divert eyes away from unwanted gazes as well as blend into the surrounding as though the wearer had always been there. Of course, there were some issues with it being that other magicks could easily let one see through the guise or destroy the enchantment entirely. Even so, Amethyst would have to be careful not to draw too much attention to herself as well. It would only work to subvert, not completely be invisible.
The robe lifted and floated in the air as though a ghost had taken its residence in the fabric. Bright runes hovered above the hem, lighting up and changing constantly. Lily was happy to help her friend be a part of society in some manner. Her smile was constant as she let her eyes roam over the pages a few more times until the cloak billowed out and fluttered calmly in its levitated state. All of the magic had dissipated but she could feel its aura. The spell had taken hold.
'Mother' flicked one way then another, proud of her daughter achieving such a finicky spell. Lilian's smile lifted more as she pet her tail and nodded. She couldn't wait to show Ammy!
"I hope she likes it," Lily said softly.
