Bentayga is a shaman, and his duty is to deal with different kinds of spirits. With time, some of them become allies, and may assist him when he really needs it.
His shape and mind can't change, as his own patron spirit doesn't allow so, but their timely aid may be just what they needed to get out of a tight situation.
By himself, he is able to shapeshift into a were sabertoothed tiger, after the egoistical intervention of an ancient, desperate spirit.

Of course, the "basic" Bentayga form is quite the sight as well, so even without the shiny animistic occult stuff, he's... stare-able 👀
