This is the last character of my funny little gang, and just like all the others: she's not related to my novel (even though she shares many similarities with one specifc character). Veronica's design is especially inspired by Anomy from Anomaly Collapse and the Rito race from the Legend of Zelda. Designed for me by

Background/origin/story:
15-year-old Veronica is the middle child of five siblings. Neither her chronically unemployed father nor her mother fulfil their parental responsibilities, resulting in a broken home. Veronica and her remaining siblings are left to their own devices most of the time. Having known no other life since she was a child, the teenager has grown into a strong, self-assured, independent, but unfortunately also argumentative girl. Although she often refers to her home as a "shack", she is frequently seen helping out around the house, for example by cooking or doing the laundry. Self-interest is one of her main motivations. Secretly, however, she is very concerned about the well-being of her younger siblings, though she would never openly it this, as she sees it as a weakness. In return, she often gets into arguments with her two older brothers.
Boredom and a desire to escape her self-imposed responsibilities drive Veronica out into the open air. Simply sitting around doing nothing or working drives her mad. Sport is Veronica's best way of letting off steam when she’s angry or in a bad mood. Veronica loves team sports, but she also doesn't shy away from competing directly against her friends and classmates. Friends – she has very few, which is largely due to Veronica's combative, narrow-minded and fiery nature. Her impulsive, moody disposition also tends to put people off.
Despite her young age, Veronica has quite a criminal record. Frustration and anger have repeatedly led her to damage public property. Often this is not intentional, but rather the result of a rash reaction. It wasn't just one window that got smashed to pieces as a result in the past, which is how Veronica got her nickname, "Riot". Veronica is usually addressed by her surname, "Riley". This doesn't bother her much, not even when both names are used together: Riot Riley. In fact, she now sees it as a unique mark of recognition, her personal trademark. Despite her ever-growing criminal record, Veronica has so far got off lightly. Community service as punishment is usually accompanied by frustration, but also by moments of realisation. She wouldn't risk her freedom for anything in the world.
Veronica loves loud music, especially punk. She went so far as to get her ghettoblaster added to the list of banned items at her school. It comes as no surprise that the teaching staff also rejected Veronica's suggestion to teach punk in music class. The fact that the school is a punk-free zone only reinforces Veronica's aversion to the place. All the more reason for her to look forward to the weekend, where she can indulge in her hobbies and enjoy her freedom. The only things she misses about school are PE and art lessons. The 15-year-old has to put up with the reputation that she's out to cause trouble. There is some truth in this, as Veronica sees confrontation as a remedy for boredom. At the same time, however, she is also infinitely loyal to those she considers her friends and whom she respects.
