While the Desert Eagle might be a fantastical weapon to dream about, it in reality has never been practical in anything but action movies.

.50 Action Express is no joke for the wrist, and if not fired with the correct posture it can really mess you up.

And while it might make all the low testosterone males angry, I personally would prefer to use the .44 magnum Desert Eagle over the .50AE. Especially since the only thing required is to swap the barrel and magazine, which can be done in less than a minute due to the deagle's design.

The Desert Eagle - style meets hold my beer. A gun designed because it's cool, not because it's actually "good". Incredibly heavy and awkward in the hand, small magazine size, expensive ammunition (.50 AE especially) - it's a range toy that absolutely zero actual militaries or police forces use, and only morons carry in civilian use, but it's in every single movie and game because it's cool. It's disproportionately popular in fiction versus the real world.

And I need one...

Oh wow, I didn't know this existed, but I gave it a quick lookup. It's certainly interesting, though if I were to get a Desert Eagle, I'd want it two tone or just chrome. For the sheer price of one, though - I'll stick to my Glocks.

Hehe, fair. I like 2011s more anyway. Though staccato is wayyyy over priced.

I want to like glocks, but I kinda only care for their looks. I don't trust trigger safeties as much as a manual one...

I have two Glocks (a 19C and a 43X), and even I definitely dislike the trigger safety. Given I'm Autistic and have focus problems, it always gives me anxiety one of these days that I'm going to zone out, pull the trigger, and forget the damn thing is loaded as I put a hole in the wall. On the bright side, the stock trigger pull (especially on my 43X) is appallingly bad, to the point it's neigh-impossible to "accidentally" fire the gun. I've had repeated instances of not pulling the trigger all the way while at the range and feeling dumb for a second, because the trigger is that bad. My 19C has a custom trigger in it, and that one's the one I worry about going off by accident much more. Great at the range - gives me anxiety otherwise. Really do wish there was an external safety.

Reasonable concerns. I honestly don't understand why they don't other than draw-to-fire speed, not having to worry about if the safety is accidentally on.

One of the main gripes about the P320 was that it had no safety for a while, and now it only has a manual one (that sometimes doesn't work).

I have heard Glocks are at least drop safe.

Honestly, I'd take a manual safety, even if it meant the possibility of forgetting it's engaged, just because it feels more likely to instead have problems with no manual safety at all. After all, disengaging the manual safety should be part of training and what one is used to anyway. Draw, flip the safety as you're doing so, AIM - fire. That safety should be as second nature as aiming itself, so really, is not having one really necessary? It's nothing you don't get used to on a Glock, even if it does feel sketchy that it's not there. Just keep your finger off the trigger at all times (which you should do on every gun ANYWAY). The tradeoff of not having that manual safety is never having to worry about the split second it takes to flip it if you forget to disengage it...which seems like a dumb selling point, in my opinion. But - I do however hear that Glocks are super drop safe due to the way they're designed. Not that I want to go dropping mine, though.

It's a side note, but I find it hilarious that people were able to attach an auto seer to the Gen 6 before it was actually released, despite the Gen 6 supposedly not being able to accept one.
