Before I talk about this page itself, let me get this out of the way: From here on out, my schedule will be working on and ing a page of this one week, working on and ing a page of Big Brother Turd the next week, and the week after that, I'll take a break from these comics to either work on other projects or just rest and recuperate. This unfortunately means you guys will get a week without a comic, but sometimes I have to put my own needs first. I don't want to abandon my other projects in favor of these comics, and I've found that if I repeat the same task day after day for too long, I feel mentally trapped, like I'm constantly walking in circles or pushing a boulder up a mountain, whereas once I've gone several days without working, I feel ready to work again.
Anyway, the ones in the photograph are (from left to right, excluding Nico) Coach Gleeson Hedge, Mellie Hedge, baby Chuck Hedge, Hazel Levesque, Reyna Avila Ramirez-Allerano, and Jason Grace. They're some of Nico's closest friends, or, in Hazel's case, his half-sister, following the events of Heroes of Olympus. The one in the photograph beside his bed (and, by extension, the one he talks to) is Will Solace, his canon boyfriend.
I decided to make Nico's bedroom wall a muted green, since after the first two pages, I was tired of drawing black backgrounds and figuring out how to make Nico's hair visible around them.
I used perspective lines to draw Nico's bed and bedside table in the second . I'm trying to get better at perspective drawing, and I think getting into a habit of using perspective lines will help me.
Feel free to make a gay joke about Will and that hot dog.
The one on the bottom row is Paolo Montes, introduced in Trials of Apollo: The Hidden Oracle. Paolo is a child of Hebe, who, in this universe, caters to demigod Littles, so I thought it made sense that, in this universe, he'd have the ability to sense if someone around him is a Little.
