It took me far too long to finish this. But we're here finally.
PREAMBLE
So this is Mia Dessendre the Sphynx - her final design as of now. Might change a bit as I redraw her over and over again in the future, but those will be minor tweaks. All the basics are here. As with a lot of my favorite work, this just kind of happened with minimal planning and flowed out. I've learned not to try super hard because it ruins my flow. Nothing is perfect, after all, and I can always keep improving on the next drawings. As long as I get something finished.
SPHYNX
A Sphynx, by the way, is a chimera species I created of mostly mammalian anthros. They have very loose rules so far. They primarily have canine or feline features. To elaborate, they take from the Carnivora order of animals - feliformia and caniformia. So animals that aren't necessarily dogs or cats, but are like them.
Example: Hyenas are part of feliformia, even though they are not cats. And seals are part of caniformia, even though they are not dogs.
The two constants of a Sphynx are that they have a mammalian head, and their feet are always paws.
Sphynxes are primarily mammalian in features, but can commonly have feathered birdlike wings and talonlike hands.
Mia doesn't, She's an ambiguous feline/canine thing, with some minor seal-like features like her tail and moderate cold insulation. Yes, she has some decent swimming ability because of it.
OUTFIT
This outfit came about by accident too. I usually would've given her the typical red waistcoat, but a mix of events and my FF14 character's clothes lead to this. It really captures her nature better than the waistcoat, I think. It looks comfortable, practical, not super fanciful. And the minimal black/white coloring with red accents adds some style as well as her signature color.
FURTHER REFERENCE?
Ref sheet of her without clothes with minor explanations of her outfit. It's tasteful. Barbie doll anatomy, mostly safe. Would not recommend opening it at work/school though, just in case.
