Anthro Gatomon

saw someone get payed to draw an anthro gatomon and i absolutely hated what they came up with (obviously not gonna name or link them cuz that would be pointlessly cruel and even if i give the art shit i am very happy for there to be more real human-made art in the world and wouldn't want to discourage them from creating), and that disgust inspired me to make my own version that i felt was more true to her character/design. she's pretty simple so you wouldn't think there'd be much variation in designs for her, but, somehow there is!
i have no plans on ever drawing anthro gatomon again. i don't actually like changing characters' bodies THAT much, especially when it seems the only reason people do it is cuz they want them to have tits. it was a fun exercise tho.
also threw in a regular bipedal feral gatomon for comparison cuz i still need to practice her. it's very tricky to go from anthros to ferals, and especially to balance the feral realism with the cartoony nature of the source material so she doesn't look super freaky.
this can also be a fun way to compare plantigrade and digitigrade stances! these two have pretty much the same leg structure, the only difference is their hip bones and the fact that anthro gatomon is standing on her toes with her ankles up, while feral gatomon is standing flat on her heels (that's why her feet are so long, her paws are just the toes, and the rest is usually off the ground when she's quadrupedal). feral cats aren't made to walk bipedally so they need the extra surface area to balance on two feet for an extended period, and gatomon is depicted as bipedal and with goofily-oversized feet in canon, so making her stand on her toes would both be unrealistic AND make her look less like herself.
other random note- i drew this with a slightly larger brush than usual and i really like it. thicker outlines are just sexy to me.

It's quite a good anthro version of her. I haven't seen the version that inspired you to do this but I'd assume that the artist did a more kemonomimi look.
thanks! but not at all, i wouldn't call a human with cat ears anthro. i can dm you the art in question if you're really curious.

Sure. It will give me an excuse to pull up Discord more than once a week.
