Seeing the re-release in theaters of the Speed Racer 2008 movie, I didn't want to miss the opportunity to play its official video game on my PS2.

If you think this was cool, PS2 had IGPX: Immortal Grand Prix. For a racing game, it was kinda neat.

I see, I didn't know IGPX also had a separate series; mixing mechs and racing certainly looks interesting.

As for defending Speed Racer, it has to be itted that both the movie and the official video game are more like Hot Wheels than Hot Wheels itself.

I'm glad to hear that. I only saw the movie as a kid, but now as an adult I'm enjoying the official video game, and yes, it's definitely a great racing game.
