When making a perler piece of a image. I edit them in ClipStudio by attaching the 30x30 grid that I have in the scraps folder (and duplicates if needed), I then use the Fill/Paint Bucket tool and fills in the black lines first before adding the colours. I use the Eyedrop toll to make sure that the colour is correct.

If traditionally, I like to colour on grid patterned sheets.
If digital, I make a grid pattern template that I open in Clipstudio and add the strokelines and colours in there. If I draw over a existing image, as I did here, I try to add colours based on of much there are in the squares. It's also impartant not to overdo the strokelines.
That's what I can think of at the moment. I hope it's of help.
So I should make her cheeks and tail softer. Even I get to learn things! :3
Otherwise, it would be really expensive.
On second thought, it was, as the club held a crowdfunder to stay in business last year and I was one of the main donors, that my wallet is still feeling.
