I drew Arpeggio and Samantha's children on my stream this week, and had a really fun time discussing both their real-life and AU origins, as well as related topics pertaining to Birds of Crime, my Sly Cooper AU centered around Arpeggio and my sona, Samantha.
Read below for a brief rundown on each of my babies!-Arpeggio Jr. is the oldest Plumeworth child, and was supposed to be the only one. Originally, Arpeggio and Samantha did not want children, Arpeggio's reasoning being not wanting to down his subpar genetics to any potential offspring and forsake them to childhood suffering akin to his own, while Sam just had no desire to have kids at all. About a year after Arpeggio and Sam were married, however, Sam expressed a want to have a child, and after some persuasion, she managed to convince Arpeggio to give him one child. Arpeggio Jr. did not inherit his father's inability to fly, but was born as quite the spitting image of him, thus prompting his mother to name him after his father (which Arpeggio originally did not want and suggested Samuel as the name of their son ... but we'll get to that!). Arpeggio Jr. grows up to be a thief like his mother and her family, but still serves the Klaww Gang as its thief and saboteur, just as his mother had when she started her career with the Klaww Gang. Though proud of his given name, he often uses the alias "Gio Falco" as a thief.
-Solfege is the middle child and only Plumeworth daughter. Sometime before Arpeggio Jr.'s third birthday, Samantha felt the desire to mother another baby, much to Arpeggio's annoyance initially, as although it was rather evident at that point that Arpeggio Jr. did not inherit his flightlessness, but the risk was very much present with every child he would potential sire thereafter. Of course, Sam successfully convinced Arpeggio to have another baby, and thus Solfege was born. Solfege grows up to become the next leader of the Klaww Gang after her father (which was somewhat foreshadowed by her egg being laid during a Klaww Gang meeting, but that ordeal is a tale for another time), and even marries the adopted daughter of the Contessa (a character in my AU who I've yet to reveal).
-Samuel is the youngest Plumeworth child, who was unintentionally conceived but still very much wanted by his parents, especially his mother. Samuel got the name that was originally intended for his brother, of course being the masculine form of his mother's name (though in actuality, he is named after both myself and Arpeggio's voice actor, Sam Mowry, whose ing in mid-2024 prompted me to officially canonize Samuel in my AU). However, it was later learned that Samuel was born with his father's small wings, which he outgrew as he aged, somewhat the reverse of his father whose wings were visibly small from birth. Fortunately, however, Samuel was not subject to the ridicule his father was faced with on of their shared disability, though perhaps this is helped by the fact that Samuel isn't as incapable of flight as Arpeggio. Whereas Arpeggio can't really fly at all, Samuel can fly short distances, but tires quickly and thus uses his wings sparingly. He also doesn't see his flightlessness as a hindrance nor does he hold any ire toward his father for ing this trait down to him. Rather, he is content with the fact that he and his father have this in common, and that his father is no longer the only member of his family who cannot fly. Samuel is the only Plumeworth child to not pursue a criminal career, and instead becomes a writer and producer of theatrical performances. Though he does not become a criminal in his adulthood, he still respects his family ' respective criminal pursuits, and even aids them should they need help evading the law or other enemies.
