Managed to look up a tutorial for basic cel shading and fixed this beautiful art up!
I think its a lot better looking now that we can know where the lighting is coming from. Its coming from the right side of the page, so I re-shaded the appropriate spots and added second layer dark spots for extra shape and depth.
