It was so strange; Kris and the Roaring Knight were - as far as anyone else knew, at least - bitter enemies.
But, during their latest battle in a cave speckled with dark pools of water, Kris' foot slipped in the middle of a sword-swing. A moment later, a splash, then Kris was gone.
The Roaring Knight stopped all combat in that moment; an act that confused both Susie and Ralsei. It just stared at the spot where Kris fell in, expecting them to breach the surface.
Five slow seconds ed. Then ten. No Kris.
That's when the Roaring Knight dropped its sword and dove in after them.
This rescue will be very awkward for the both of them to explain.
