ENGORGING EMINATIONS OF PLUMPENING PURPLE PRESTIDIGITATIONIn the mining tunnels winding beneath the mountain city of Coppertorn, a conversation echoed through the stone walls telling of an artifact of grand prosperity. “A fragment of fey crystal, imbued with abundance, forged into an artifact by the greatest artificer in History.”
The story rang into the ears of a small tunneler. A kobold named Rikath heard these words and it was a tale too great to ignore, peeking out of an old mineshaft, he found source of the story. A bulky badger in a blacksmith’s apron spoke to a crowd of superstitious fish. The badger held the purple gem of grandeur to congregation, a shining artifact. “This will help you thrive beneath the stone. With the blessings of your cleric, the lichens will grow lush. I am meeting her in the bakery this afternoon. The Great, Zena” The kobold listened in, and ran off to as a great deal of chants and praise were heard echoing as he left, “Zena, Zena, She will bless! The land, the wind, the flame, the water. All the best!”
It was timely news, a lost young whelp was found beneath the city. Unfortunately, three kobolds found the dragon’s hunger hard to satiate. To steal the artifact, they would have their troubles solved. The badger, Kozmar, stepped off the elevator to cool night air of Coppertorn and sauntered over to the Breuger Bros Bagel, Zena was waiting and so Kozmar sat at her table where a box of bagels had already been bought.
His plans were simple, give the fish people belief that this gemstone would help their farms thrive in the tunnels, tell them that their ‘cleric’ would be blessing it to enhance it’s magics. Have her bring it back to her friends, and make it so. He had seen these creature’s beliefs had the abillity to manifest reality. He’d probably get a scolding from the blue bird, Zena, about lying. However, that blue bird who he saw was been quite excited to see him. “Zena, you always got to be so early?” “The night gaurds will be on patrol soon!”
He brought out the artifact, a crsytaline gem encased in a ornate casing. Kozmar put the device onto the table while Zena handed him a bagel. “It’s a gem of abundance, fey shard. Figured your magic could take advantage of it.” She picked it up with her clawed talon and began to study it’s glow.
Before Zena could get too close a look, an unstable lizardfolk with a unfamiliar face approached the two with politely pleasantries. “Oh ello, mind if I could ask for a few directions”From beneath the trenchcoat’s fabric, two kobolds could only hear muffled conversations. It sounded like a few insults at the drunkenness of their stance, and some sincere apologies coming from a different voice. Izeryn, the legs of the operation, had held the other two; Rikath the miner, and Auryk the face. The green kobold peered out his ears and tried to hear from beneath the table he saw. A kenku’s talons and a badger’s feet. It appeared as thought the blue bird had offered something to Auryk, as the unsteady motions of Rikath meant that he was being handed something.
It wasn't long before Izeryn’s shoulders began to feel mounting pressure. He heard the coat buttons popping, A not so small draconic lizard felling forward out of coat and the floor infront of him with a thud. His tan scaled belly swelling and threatening to envelope his small frame. “Auryk” Izeryn said. Noting the crumbs on his ally’s face, he had clearly eaten something.
Diving out of the overcoat, two kobolds ditched their disguise and leapt to action. much to other two’s surprise. The kobolds had to act quick. “I’ll get the gem! You keep them busy!” Izeryn said as they both climbed onto the table. Izeryn went to grab the gem while Rikath unsure exactly what to do, grabbed those bagels. Seeing how the bagels did something crazy to Auryk, he shoved a couple of them into the mouths of both bird and badger. The magic worked quick. Rikath was surprised! So surprised he didn’t hear Izeryn tell him to get out of there. The waistlines of both bird and badger blocked him. “Blaurk!” he cried out as he was suddenly restrained.
Izeryn, ran down the mountainous mustelid with crystal in hand, but with a jerk he was suddenly brought to a stop. The kobold twisted and turned, desperately trying to escape, but a strong hand gripped onto his tail. Izeryn dropped the gemstone right ontop of the Auryk’s taut scales. The gem free of it’s containment, shined it’s light onto the red kobolds middle.
Auryk pinned down on the ground, crimson scales consuming his vision as more of him continued to amass. Pressure within his stomach restrained him, his weight pinning his back to the stone plaza floor. The glowing magic filling his being with the taste and feeling of fullness that would not stop. The last thing he saw before ing out was the blue bird casting magic and lifting the crystal off his ballooning scales and returning the shard into it’s magical containment. The artifact glow now contained, left in it’s aftermath were three fattened bagel eaters, and three trapped kobolds.
A dangerous item, perhaps too dangerous for mortal waists. “Well that works I guess”

If you got any ideas for me to try in the next write story/illustration, I'd be curious to hear~
Though ittedly, for story suggestions, I'd have to know about le' thingies ya' have planned to illustrate so they'd be on-theme, so to speak. ;¬w¬
Interesting look into this strategic side of our big-bellied blacksmith badger. Certainly more than just brawn, methinks. At the very least, Kozmar's plans got... delayed.
