Brandy, a light-brown-furred Hobkin and first-year Apprentice Mage, lives in the Grove—an enormous forest crater shaped by ancient magic. At its center towers the colossal Worldroot Tree, the legendary source of all magic whose roots feed life into every corner of the land. When Hobkins come of age, the great Tree reveals their innate mana attunement—and Brandy’s was unveiled as Orange, a color so rare it appears only once every few centuries.

I gotta say, this is like a combination of Harry Potter and the Redwall series [Brian Jacques] with these creatures practicing magic in a prominent institute in this world.
