I'm guessing the little keyfob/magazine goes in the bottom of the grip, but what does it do since the ammo is in the cylinder?

As far as I know it changes the property of the projectiles. A bit like a weapon mod in games basically.

Now that's an interesting mod. That means there would be different types of keyfobs for different properties.
