Kurza has never seen the Dragonscale armor of the ancient nords, nor does she have the resources or knowledge to make it. She is, however, skilled enough to make dragon parts into pretty good armor. Although the dragons are skeletonized in the Dovahkiin's presence as she rips away their souls, Kurza is nothing if not creative and took to literally ripping off choice pieces of the still living Dovah she encounters while killing them.
As the legendary dragonborn, Ash Ravenmane became the obvious candidate to get the first pieces of dragon armor, as well as her small size and preference for speed over power. A skilled leatherworker and blacksmith in her own right, Kurza was able to create shoulder armor, cuirass, hip armor, boots and right armguard, as well as lining the interior of Ashling's cloak with the Dragon's wing membrane.
Although not as good as the traditional dragon, this variant far exceeds armor of similar weight and stronger than most metals of heavier plate but light enough for someone of Ash's smaller than average size to not be impeded in speed or stealth.
