Here is my first contribution for this year Orctober event. More specifically, I’m following my friend Rachel's alternative prompt list (link below), for several reasons. First, because explicit queer acceptance matters a lot to me. Second, some of her prompts resonate so much with me. This include the prompt for the 11th day, “look”.
I choosed to interpret “look” as in “how others look at me, and how it affect how I look at myself”. Because for as long as I can ed, I’ve been seen as a monster by society and by most of my peers. Either because I’m neurodivergent or because I’m queer (especially trans). This othering, the marginalization it entail and the strong emotions it brings inside me (not just anger, but sadness as well), are why I relate so much to Orcs.
This drawing might look rough and imperfect (especially on the coloring side). But it’s something I choose to embrace. Because it represent my struggles and my raw emotions. So, I guess it’s meant to be more cathartic than neat or refined.

A pencil drawing by Autumn Dreamleaf, dated to October 2025. It features an orc looking in a mirror while crying. The orc as a light green skin and big blue eyes with a black sclera, contrasting with their red flannel worn over a black shirt. They also have long and wavy brown hair and dark green freckles. Above their reflection are three eyes looking down. The background is purple and seem to have been in done roughly.
