A cut-down variation of the Austrian 1895 rifle of 8x56R. Made by Steyr, this one was likely issued to police units following annexation prior to the outbreak of WW2. Ammo on five-round en bloc clips, dated 1938 was sold through Dunham's many years ago. The clips could only be inserted one way, and dropped out of the bottom after the last shot was fired. Sporting ammo is available, but quite pricey.

Good looking Rifle. I was interested in one sometime back but went with something a bit less exotic for reloading.
