This drawing/fan-art is based on the classic 1941 MGM cartoon titled "The Little Mole", which is about a young mole's innocent view of the world that changes dramatically after a shifty skunk sells him a pair of glasses and encourages him to explore his surroundings!
In the animated cartoon, the little mole loses his glasses to the point of getting lost and almost drowning near a stream until his mother finds him and comforts him in her arms!
I decided to make a kind of "follow up" of the end of the cartoon, in which we can see her mother reading her a story from a storybook about beautiful castles, near a fireplace in a cozy and familiar environment!
For a long time this cartoon has been a favorite of my entire family because of its themes of childhood and innocence, and I hope that new generations appreciate it as much as mine!*hugs*
