Here we have another story to introduce my current D&D character. But I decided to do it in a way I've never done before. I introduce her through diary entries. I hope you'll enjoy it.If you read the story please take a moment to leave a comment below. It would mean the world to me as the writer.Entry 1: Um…Mother has given me this…well…you…and instructed me to write to you as if you were a person. Apparently your name is Diary. This will take some getting used to.
*
Entry 2: Well I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Lunara. Lunara Wildwind. I’m a half elf. My father is a human, and my mother an elf. I suppose I should refer to you as Diary.
*
Entry 4: I live in a cottage in a glade in the woods with my father, mother, and brother. We live here away from the village because we have a secret. My father, brother and I are werewolves. But not cursed ones. We were born this way. Father’s side of the family are from a secret village of natural born lycans. He grew up there before coming here to be with mother after they met. It’s quiet, but we all have each other.
*
Entry 5: Dear Diary: Studied herbalism with mother today.
*
Entry 20: Dear Diary. Caught a slight illness. I’m feeling tired. Slept most of the day.
*
Entry 25: Dear Diary: Father insists on teaching Flintheart and I how to harness our werewolf forms. He says it’s a fundamental ability that all natural borns should know in case we need it. But we should also hide it from people because of how society views afflicted lycans. Flintheart has a better grasp on it than I do so far, but I’ll catch up.
*
Entry 105: Dear Diary: Something awful has happened! Father succumb to his transformation and wasn’t able to control himself. Flintheart tried to stop him, but he was spotted by the village and…they killed him. Thankfully mother says that they don’t know about me and Flintheart, but father’s…gone.
*
Entry 110: Dear Diary: Uncle Lawrence came with a few others to take father’s body back to the village. He said that we should come with them, but mother refused. She said that we will stay in the home she built with father. Uncle Lawrence relented, though I could tell he was not happy with the decision.
*
Entry 130: Dear Diary: Flintheart accompanied me into the forest to look for medicinal herbs, and guess what? We found a moonflower! It’s so pretty. It reminds me of the full moon. Did you know they only bloom at night? I’m going to press it before it wilts. You wouldn’t mind helping me with that would you?
*
Entry 150: Dear Diary: Flintheart told me that he wants to become an adventurer and travel the world. He has often told me of a satyr friend of his who taught him to play the pan pipes. Maybe that’s who’s influencing him to want to go?
*
Entry 175: Dear Diary: Uncle Lawrence attacked Flintheart! I told him of Flintheart’s plan to leave and become an adventurer, but Uncle wouldn’t have it. He tried to bring Flintheart back to the village by force. He said that so called civilized society will not take another of his family from him, but that shouldn’t be his choice! Mother got in the way, and warned Uncle that he wasn’t welcome here anymore. She gave Flintheart a silvered dagger to protect himself in case Uncle attacks him again.
*
Entry 195: Dear Diary: Flintheart left today. He wasn’t discouraged by Uncle Lawrence’s attack and said that his heart was set on going. He even used father’s old adage of “Letting the Wildwind’s flow”. I’ll it I smiled at that, but it will be sad having him gone. I hope he comes back soon.
*
Entry 235: Dear Diary: Mother is sick. She has been bedridden for a couple days now. I’m using what she’s taught me about herbalism to help her get better. I just hope I don’t mess things up.
*
Entry 400: Dear Diary: We had a visitor today. An elf; like mother. She said she was a cleric of Selune. I’ve heard of Selune before, but don’t know much. She said that the site our house is on was shown to her in a vision. A sacred glade once touched by the moon goddess. Mother was worried that she would ask us to leave, but she didn’t. In fact she seemed very interested in me instead of the house. We didn’t get any bad vibes from her, but mother is still wary.
*
Entry 405: Dear Diary: The cleric of Selune came back today. She told me that her name was Serena. And then she said something that shocked and frightened me. She said that she knew that I was a werewolf. After what happened to father; mother did not take kindly to this and threatened her in response. Serena clarified that she meant me no harm and that she hadn’t told anyone, and didn’t intend to. She asked if my fur was silver in wolf form like my hair. Hesitantly I confirmed her suspicion. She was delighted to hear this and claimed I was one of Selune’s chosen. She asked if there were any others I knew of with silver fur. I hadn’t thought of it before, but among the born lycans I’d met the only other I know that has silver fur is Flintheart. Even father’s fur was black. She replied that it was a shame she couldn’t meet Flintheart before he left, but she had faith that he would spread good and do Selune’s will in his travels even if he doesn’t know it. She offered to take me into her tutelage to become a cleric of Selune myself. She said that it would be an honor to train one of Selune’s chosen lycans in her teachings. I told her I would think about it.
*
Entry 406: Dear Diary: I decided to take Serena up on her offer. I was expecting her to ask me to come to a far away temple with her, but instead she offered to move in here and teach me. Because the site our house is on was touched by the moon goddess it can function as a temple too. Mother agreed, and she will be living in Flintheart’s old room. I am excited, but at the same time a little anxious.
*
Entry 415: Dear Diary: Serena is all moved in now. She started my training by telling me what Selune’s Chosen are. She said that I should understand what I am before I learn anything else. Apparently her chosen are denoted by their distinct silver fur whose brilliant sheen is reminiscent of the pale silvery light of the full moon. As born lycans they are very aware of the stigma against their kind, and are driven to help both afflicted and born alike if they can. They do their best to cure afflicted lycans if possible, and lead them to temples of Selune to atone for what they may have done while cursed. While they can’t differentiate a lycan from a regular humanoid; they are blessed with the ability to see how far gone a lycan is by a red tint visible on their fur in their transformed state. A lycan that hasn’t taken any lives looks normal, but the more blood they spill, and the more lives they take that tint becomes darker and darker reflecting the lycan’s transition to nothing more than a beast in hiding; a dangerous threat to those around them that must be taken out. Being lycans themselves they are equipped to do this better than your average humanoid, and with the blessings of Selune they have the edge as well. It was all very interesting to learn about.
*
Entry 475: Dear Diary: My training is progressing well. Serena sometimes leaves for a few days to a week, but always leaves me with things to study and read. She receives visions of important places she needs to go, and regales us with what happened when she returns. I’ll it the life of a cleric is more dangerous than I thought it might be from what she tells.
*
Entry 525: Dear Diary: Serena has begun inviting me to accompany her on her missions! It’s very exciting that I’ll be able to see more of the world like Flintheart is. She asked if I’ve received any visions myself, but I haven’t yet. She’s sure they’ll come with time when I am ready.
*
Entry 750: Dear Diary: Serena says she has nothing left to teach me. She took me to a temple of Selune to take my rites among others who had ed their training. She says she won’t pressure me to leave the house, but that my mind should be open to going where Selune guides me.
*
Entry 800: Dear Diary: I received a letter from Flintheart today. It seems he’s going to settle down in a city called Silverymoon. He says that he met a drow woman in his travels and after escorting her and her brother to the city has decided to stay there with her. I am happy for him, but what’s more exciting is that he claims that the people in Silverymoon are aware that he is a werewolf, and have accepted him. Could it really be true? A place that would accept us? He’s invited me to come see it, but I don’t know. I’ll have to think on it.
*
Entry 805: Dear Diary: I had a vision last night! In my dreams I saw a city, very much like what Flintheart described in his letter, I was there, but I wasn’t alone. I had others with me. Other lycans. Natural borns like Flintheart and myself. I was leading them there. Could Selune be sending me a message? Could that be what I’m supposed to do?
*
Entry 806: Dear Diary: After speaking to mother about the dream I have decided to journey to find the city of Silverymoon to see it for myself. If I am meant to lead my fellow lycans to a city that would accept them it would be prudent for me to see it for myself first wouldn’t it? I mean I would at least have to know where it is right? This is actually a bit exciting. I’ve never left home for an extended period of time before, but if Flintheart did it, I can too right?
*
Entry 830: Dear Diary: This will be the last time I write in you from this portal. I understand that this is just a record of my experiences. But it’s been fun pretending that I have been writing to a quill pal in some paper world that’s able to read my entries. This book is pretty much full anyway. I’m going to leave it with mother, but I do plan to bring a new one with me on my journey. I hope you will continue to accompany me on my new journey. Your friend; Lunara WildwindIf you read the story please take a moment to leave a comment below. It would mean the world to me as the writer.Lunara is the little sister of a bard character I played a couple years ago. That game unfortunately fell through, but after talking to the DM on what tragectory his story was on I decided to make it cannon that he settled in Silverymoon with the sister of the drow siblings he was escorting. I have also played Flintheart's son Lupin in another game as well who was a Path of the Beast Barbarian. This will be my first time playing a Cleric. This should be interesting.

Journals/diaries can be a good thing to write down how life was.
