Midas Archir, father of Alek, who faked his end after getting involved with the wrong people and losing his wife to escape into the 'world fog' of the planet [A un-charted land because of the thick pink fog that hides its inhabitants from the rest of the world.] Here Midas can feel safe in a world made of magic, living with unicorns, sphinx, manticores and more. He never did fit in with a world that saw mages as weapons.

He is brimming with so much energy in his veins that he is capable of 'emoting' with magic [sparkles or hearts over his head the same gold as his spots]
(most every magic action is done with a delighted snap)

how does one travel in a world where there can be no sailing or flying? Why, portals of course.
