I’m rooting for him
"Just a drawing" isn't an excuse for drawing minor characters in a sexual manner, nor is "well, in this world, these characters mature faster than humans, etc."
1. This decades old comic has barely done any world building. If anything, it's poorly incorporated a lot of stuff from Chalo's Las Lindas world building and because these two comics are part of Katbox/Kemono Café, we're just suppose to roll with it. UberQuest, for example, has been out almost as long as Rascals and that comic has their stuff together. Their characters have personality, their world building is being established and have that good balance of sexiness/sexual scenes, action, tension and drama. They don't just don't make it about sex and bad anime tropes. Rascals is suppose to be a slice-of-life, right? No... Looks like according to Wikifur, it's a "action/adventure/comedy/drama". Shame we don't really see much of that.
2. If these characters age up and mature faster, why the hell are they still in middle school? Seems very sus and outright creepy if these so-called "mature" characters are in middle school and just skipping about with their titties out.
Rascals, back in the earlier pages, it was cool. It was cheesy and goofy AF, but it had it's... Quirks. I liked the gritty pencil sketch style and thought it was unique. I liked the potential of knowing the characters, like what inspired Chrissy to want to pursue Graphic Design as her major? Why Reiko and Jazmin are rivals and know more about their background about the ninja way? Why is Quick so dorky and ignorant when it comes to communication, women and relationships? I wanted to know more about Chrissy and her abusive ex, Cody—liked dude shows up, goes "ooga-booga", a punch happens and he gets arrested, never to be see again. Like... There could have been more drama or action there! Seeing Cody & Ravin fighting or drawing out the stalking or blackmail or, hell, in the aftermath of Cody getting arrested, Quick showing to Chrissy and understanding why she's so hesistant and wish-washy with relationships or her trust issues.
This comic could've had so much potential but I just feel like instead of focusing on world building, character development, proper storytelling, dialogue and actually being an action/adventure/comedy/drama webcomic, it is instead a fetish comic. That's just it. Just catering to people's fetish and these characters are nothing more than overly used fleshlights that no one is going to bother to clean and just used purely to make money. Just big balloon tits, Nicki Minaj bad BBL and weirdly placed muscles. Forget character development and individualism—everyone is a sex model because most of your audience likes that stuff and you're just gonna change everything about this comic you've done in memory of Tim Marks because someone is paying hundreds upon hundreds of dollars to see their fetish in your Chalo-esque style.
It's obvious that you have no interest in reading this comic anymore, and that's fine. What I don't get is why you choose to write an entire memoir of your dissatisfaction every week.
First, I think you're taking things too seriously about what goes on in the comic. I never claimed to be Shakespeare here I do the best I can with the skill I have. Ill it the story of this comic has gone way off the rails of what I initially wanted it to be for that I blame myself for listening to everybody who wanted things to go a certain way thinking that it will please everyone. Ive been trying to fix what I can but in doing so has created more holes to the point I just decided to focus on the things people and myself like which is fanservice
The world of Rascals does not work the same as the real world things like the school system are totally different ( as I will reveal in pages if you care to still follow along )
Wikifur labels it as an action /adventure/comedy/drama because that's what it is granted there might not be much of it but is it in there?..I'll answer that yes it is.
Trying to be an artist and a writer of this comic have been a tremendous learning experience for the past decade and Ive seen people come and go.I have always told myself to always remain humble no matter how hard it gets and how many people put me down. Im glad you like UberQuest hell as much as the artist and writer don't care for me I still wish them all the best.
If Reading Rascals has you upset, you can just stop reading it. because I really don't know what you want me to do. I'm still learning this as I go, and I believe I'll always be.
If you think it's so easy to write a comic that releases one page a week and spans over a decade why don't you do it?
You seem to not understand criticism. There is good and there is bad. If criticism was all nice, what's the point?
Art and writing can be difficult and I don't deny that. It is a learned skill, BUT I also know that if something isn't my strong suit, I either practice and learn or if need be, ask for help. Nothing is wrong with asking for help or another pair of eyes to look things over and point A/B/C out.
MasterGodai's work does have potential and opportunities in his years of work to bring out the best of his story and his characters, and doesn't. I honestly believe that is possible, but if writing isn't his strongsuit—which he himself its—then maybe ask for help or plan things out a little more. There is nothing wrong with that.
Writing a comic is not easy. World building and character development is not easy. That's why you plan things out. If an artist needs time to get everything together and maybe take a break or hiatus for a while to improve things, surely you, his fans, will understand that and give him time and continue to show .
Note: This is what I was going to say as my final piece, but MasterGodai just so happened to block my . Turns out the others were right on how he doesn't take actual criticism well. It really says a lot about him.
Have the day you deserve and bless your sweet heart.
Godai takes criticism fine. But he like most people dont take kindly to being torn down every time he posts something. He likely blocked you because you were constantly bashing him and his work. That may be a form of criticism, sure, but as you yourself just pointed out there is good, and there is bad. And bashjng him and his work in the manner you have is bad. If you created something over a long period of time and tried to make people happy with it, and there's one person criticizing you in such a negative way every post you might not feel so proud of the thing you created because it and you are being torn down. I'm not saying your entire thing is bunk, hut the way you are going about it doesn't help in the long run.
Have a good day.

Overall nice job wrapping up the demon possession arc. As I said in the patron channel it may not have been the most popular arc, but wrapping it up was a good thing.
Constructive criticism I'd offer is that I would have had the meat of the story involving Xeiko happen via a flashback instead of present time. That way you could have shed light on what happened while they were gone in Japan, and showcased some of the other characters. Also would have made Hamada coming back less out of nowhere.
Just my thoughts one writer to another.

Thanks I wish I had more constructive criticism like this instead of the ones with insults and curse words lol
If I worked on a free-to-view webcomic, and every week I saw the same single person rant on about how terrible it is and nothing else, consistently going out of their way to make me feel bad about what I do, then proceed to try painting me as some horrible, petty person for not particularly liking that... yeah. I'd be a bit tempted to tell that person to fuck off, too. And I'd have every right to do that.
I've lurked and honestly seen Godai take criticism well, but even if he didn't... so what? He's just doing a thing he enjoys doing, a lot of other people enjoy reading it, and it harms nobody outside of that circle. You're wasting energy on something that is not worth the hassle.
I often hear the sentiment that one should always expect criticism when posting something online for everyone to see. In return, critics should understand the need to be respectful.
