So, the Old Ghoul salesman spoke, starting the production in the early post-American year of 2080 to the present day, made to shoot both shotgun and slug rounds, making it a rifle. Found on nearly every wasteland faction, be it a small farmer just scraping to get by in the wasteland, to a simple target practice rifle for a city dweller outside of a large settlement. More common than rads in a rainstorm or sand found in a scavenger's pocket, given the weapon's cheap price, it breaks.... a lot, but is also repaired easily, though it has terrible spread and range as well as a single shot, but it also has a massive amount of damage if the shot hits the target. Was the better option than what a standard waster would make themselves, it remained the cream of the wasteland home defense crop. However, a Perfect counter would be made years later, just after the creation of the NCR in 2189, an already used single-shot rifle was used and mass produced, having its roots back in 2141, the single-shot shotgun would become the new staple of the NCR home defense.
Becoming a staple of the NCR, it quickly became a rifle of the Crude shotgun for its better accuracy, fire rate, durability, higher production, and lighter weight. But because of labor and taxes, the gun costs an extra 100 caps, making it 175 caps, then 75 caps. Still highly sought after by both farmers, ranchers, scavengers, and settlers, Most inside the NCR territory had ditched the Crude shotgun altogether; however, the more a traveler gets out of NCR territory, the more the Crude shotgun is found. In the end, they are both found everywhere and carried on just about everyone, It's all about what you want to keep yourself safe, power or fire rate, an age-old conundrum.
