I fucking love the Nine Inch Nails cover of Dead Souls, it's the only good Joy Division song [vineboom].
There's a lot of lore tidbits sprinkled throughout this piece, but the main theme is just that all these characters are dysfunctional and aimless and all have fucked up elements of their past, and sort ofbond over it to keep the unpleasant pasts at bay. Zahara doesn't like any of them but the only thing worse than company is being alone.
