wow!!!! your work is so impressive and detailed *o* <3<3 i've not seen such thoughtful use of fleece before, it's fantastic!

i have a question... how do you go about getting tall ears like this to stand upright? i suppose in this example there's enough structure from the fluffs around them to counterbalance... but do you ever use wire for details like this, or do you prefer to keep the kigus washable without the risk of rust?

thanks so much for your kind words! :D I used to use wire in the ears (you can use galvinized/rubberized wire to avoid rusting) but now I just use extra chunky wadding/batting sewn directly into the ear when the front and back pieces get sewn together- that along with careful shaping of the base to fit the hood shape is enough for them to hold their structure, even on big ears like this! the other key part is that the ears are appliqued down, not sewn into a seam, so it can take a lot of patience and pinning to get them exactly symmetrical, hope that helps :)

i've been dreaming of sewing a kigu for myself, but i've always found it hard to approach craft projects if i don't already know how to do everything. i'm not very good at going "oh that didn't work, let' try something else!" so i compensate by planning out as much as i can beforehand. it's uh... not a very good system LOL
