Billie and Seve's Adventures in Love and Friendship
---
Little did anyone know, the merging of worlds wasn’t as loud and instantaneous as seemed: there had been a silent few that found themselves brought into Seve’s and Billie’s worlds (and other ones), shortly after the former’s attempts at using the Rainbow Crystal. Alexis came across one of them: a scared and timid little wolf-girl, nothing of which the doe had ever seen before. Alexis couldn’t leave the pup alone, especially not when she knew how it felt to be without a single friend and in an intimidatingly new environment. Perhaps it was also maternal instinct to take in a seeming child, as thoughts of young Daisy somehow ending up somewhere unfamiliar and left vulnerable sent a chill up the doe’s spine.
Some would fear their spouse reacting badly to a strange creature randomly brought into the household, but Steve always wanted to please his wife and didn’t even react beyond surprised curiosity. Even young Daisy excitedly squealed and ran around, in typical toddler fashion: she couldn’t stop shouting about “Mommy getting a new puppy.” Bless the ignorance and innocence of the young… Alexis would eventually learn the unique being’s name, via the tag she wore on her ever present collar: Clarissa Vlcek, though the speech-challenged pup managed to convey “Claire” as the preferred name with some pen and paper. She also had writing explain her origins and how she got there: she’s apparently half wolf and half of something known as “human,” but she was suddenly whisked from others like her when she stepped out from the restroom of her friend’s pizzeria. All of a sudden, she was in an unfamiliar city after that bright flash. Of course, there was no way for either Alexis nor Claire to know about Seve and Trevor’s likely responsible experiment.
Alexis suspected magic to be involved, regardless, as there’s no other explanation she could consider and she knew the capabilities it had. The only question: why would magic be responsible for it, and how did Alexis use it to send the pup back? … Not a desire the doe would keep, however. At first, it started out harmlessly and even warmly enough: Alexis always found Claire close by her side, literally following her like the lost little puppy she was. The doe found it adorable and even felt a little special because of it. True, it could just be the fact Alexis found her, but Claire did more than just cling to some discovering security blanket: she always did what Alexis asked and gave her whatever she wanted, with the only “necessary repayment” being a comforting lap to rest her head upon or a kind hoof to caress her head. Alexis could’ve even feigned any emotional concerns on her part, and Claire still would’ve done whatever it took to please her. Of course, Alexis did care about her, but it surprised her how much Claire did about her.
The pup had always found a greater comfort in the fellow gender, and Alexis knew just how to grow that comfort and love-- and she always did her best to. After all, this was something Alexis never had before: someone who prioritized her and didn’t think she was some “creepy freak,” and Alexis didn’t even have to reanimate a corpse into a clone of someone this time! Alexis still loved Steve deeply, of course! She even loved him enough to bear his child, their beautiful baby girl… Steve and Daisy would always be Alexis’ world; but even then, those insecurities of hers would prove haunting. Could Steve naturally love Alexis if she didn’t create him as her ideal “Seve stand-in,” and would Daisy love her if she wasn’t “Mommy”...? But with Claire, there’s no doubt the pup would display the loyalty a wolf is associated with… Well, to an extent, anyhow.
Claire would realize Alexis practiced magic, thanks to the discovery of the staff and robe. Alexis, feeling she could do anything with this pup and be free of judgment, showed her the magical study in the attic and went into further detail. All was well, until Alexis specified the nature of it… Claire knew about the different types of magic from her Wiccan sibling, and it was always made clear that black magic is strictly taboo-- no matter the reason of its use nor how “little” harm it seems to cause, emphasis on “seems.” Claire managed to catch sight of one thing that made black magic taboo: a jar that was labeled to contain fingernails. Far from the most heinous of ingredients; but if it came from a corpse, there’d be no denying that Alexis is the type of person she’d be warned to stay away from. Claire’s sibling always told her: “You see, s of black magic are always bound to cause trouble. After all, corpses tend to be their main ingredients-- and those who’d desecrate the dead would have even less concern for the living.”
It can only be imagined how Claire reacted, when Alexis found enough comfort and trust in her to confess her sins regarding Steve: a body and soul disturbed from its slumber, twisted into the desired and serving image of someone because Alexis selfishly valued personal desires more than anything. What if Steve had been rendered immortal as a result, thus the soul could never finally receive any peace nor the privilege of the next life? Alexis could tell she made a mistake, the moment Claire suddenly looked at her in pure terror: the same face her own parents would sometimes give because of her behavior and interests, despite how much they loved her. Even her own parents disliked her in some way, just like everyone else… No, Alexis couldn’t lose Claire’s love! She was the only person that didn’t have to be made to love her like Steve did, she’s the only one that didn’t care how “ugly” or “pretty” Alexis looked, she didn’t force Alexis to do all of the comprising and didn’t even need any real effort on Alexis’ part-- ALEXIS ISN’T LOSING THIS!!
The doe made the mistake of grabbing the pup’s wrist, as the scared thing tried backing away, earning her a nasty slash to the eye. Luckily, Alexis had fared against beings far deadlier and only suffered more emotionally than physically. A quick, subduing sleep spell saw the pup onto the ground, now allowing Alexis to properly do a small memory-wiping spell that Claire halted earlier. However, Alexis stopped… Is that what she wanted: having to once again use magic to just make someone love her? She craved that authenticity in Claire’s special treatment of her… Instead, she took the pup and made her a spot in the attic: a nice chain pad for a new collar, covering the small portion of walling that served as the new housing corner for Claire. She’d hide the pup away, just as she first did with Steve-- except he would be kept in the dark by an excuse of Claire falling badly sick with some magical ailment, something Alexis would be better at handling herself. She also blamed it as why the pup scratched her face.
Steve didn’t pry into it too much, as he trusted her and knew Claire would be in good hooves… and, of course, he always wants to make his wife happy and give her whatever she wants. Daisy was a little disappointed at not being able to play with “her puppy” for the time being, but Alexis assured her daughter that Claire would be back to “normal” soon.
Yes, she’ll be back to normal soon… She loves Alexis and loves being her “good girl”...First of all, Claire's not actually in the story, I-I just...
... Well, Lexi's kinda unnerving me in the latest/final installment of the series, and one reason is she's got some uncanny parallels to Vadrigar-- case in point, Steve's creation and morphing involved the same process Vadrigar did to make all the goats look like his unicorn form.
