Southchester's most common tram, the Tatra KT8D5N. These work horses built by CKD later Siemens were and still are the poster boy for Southchesters trams.
Built in Czechoslovakia the first unit 8001 arrived in 1990. In 1991 the first batch of 10 trams arrived. In 1993 the 2nd batch of 42 trams arrived. In 1999 a new variant arrived, the KT8D5N.2 These had the same front as the Manila RT8D5M, there were 5 units. Another 8 more arrived from Siemens in 2002. Theses aren't the rarest variant though...
In 2004 to 2010 all trams were sent over to Prague in Czechia to be converted to KT8D5R.N2P. The only one that was NOT refurbished was 8001 which was preserved. The refurb makes these trams DDA compliant.
