About time I got a drawing with Layla as a genie.
Layla, she was one of the first OC's I've created for his , the idea of a cheerful goth gal sounded good to me and wanted to go for that. While I already got multiple drawings with her in both her regular outfit and some different ones, this is the first time I got something with her as a genie.
The idea came after I was interested in doing something with a game console and as the short-haired goth is also a fan of games, I decided to go for it. For the drawing, I commissioned my good friend ganstargab who presented me with a great idea that had all the details we discussed. After waiting for almost a week, Layla was happy to have her Switch back.
For reasons unknown, during her usual night of Friday playing one of her favorite games, her game console started to malfunction. The cheerful goth was puzzled as she always took care of it, but after trying everything she could to make it work, in the end, Layla decided to search for a place that would fix her Switch. Going with the repairman she and Charlie normally went with wasn’t an option he had to leave for a personal issue, but as she looked for places that would help her, the goth gal found a new shop that was pretty close to the other repairman.
Even though Layla got told that she had to wait a week, what convinced her was the service of the two repairmen, who not only agreed on checking everything, but also giving her an offer that included two new controllers. Taken by their nice attitude and the idea of getting new joysticks, the goth gal accepted on the spot and left her game console with them. As she continued with her week, being eager about the moment where she was going to be back to her routine, the short-haired gal decided to think about what game to play, deciding on choosing one from her favorite franchise.
Once the day finally came, Layla got a message from one of the repairmen telling her that they were done and that she could come to the establishment wherever she wanted. The cheerful goth was so happy that once her class came to an end, she left the campus, went to the shop to pick up her game console and bought a bag of her favorite gummies before going to her apartment, ready to enjoy a night playing her favorite games. “Finally! Back to normal,” she said while sitting on the couch and looking at the pair of colorful controllers that she got. While a fan of dark colors, Layla still liked the two colorful controllers, the orange and purple went well with her dark Switch, making it stand out compared to the pair of gray joysticks she had.
As the goth gal ate a few gummies, she turned on her game console and prepared herself to play with one of her favorite games, but then, Layla saw that screen had an orange and purple spiral. It was strange, she expected her game console to work again and yet, the cheerful goth couldn’t help but to lock her gaze on the colorful spiral. While still perplexed about the fact that her Switch was showing a swirl instead of the usual Startup Screen, Layla was far from worried, even starting to like the view.
“I don't know what this is but…the colors look…nice…” for anyone, seeing an orange and purple spiral on a screen might have made them feel confused, but as the goth gal always had a jolly attitude, rarely showing a negative emotion, she continued to ire the hypnotic spirals. Layla still was set on playing the game she was thinking about for days and was even close to turning her Switch off, but the deeper she looked at the orange and purple spirals, she quickly dropped the idea. “Maybe…nothing bad would happen…if I keep looking at the screen just for a moment…then I’ll play my game…yeah…I’ll…do that.”
Layla was in an internal battle between her desire to play her game and continue looking at the colorful swirl, with both ideas trying to repel the other. On one hand, the cheerful goth was looking forward to playing her game, but on the other, she wanted to keep looking at those pretty colors that while they made her feel dazed, they also made her feel good. Layla went back and forth with both ideas, finding positive and negative things in both and while her desire to play her game came to her from the moment she left her game console to be repaired, watching those captivating swirls of colors started to become the main idea.
“I think…my game could wait…” Layla said in a quiet yet calm tone, smiling as the more she looked at those pretty colors, the less she thought about wanting to play with her Switch. Her desire to play didn’t leave her mind, it was the one thing she was looking forward to since the start of the week, but just one peak of the orange and purple swirls, the way they moved and shined took a toll on her. It was barely the start of the induction and yet, Layla wasn’t thinking about this being a bad or strange thing to happen. “So nice…so pretty…I really like…looking at…the screen…and the colors…”
Chucking softly, the goth gal quickly let everything else go. Everything paled compared to those hypnotic colors that continued to entrance her, things like her gummies or the game she was interested in playing became less important than looking at the screen of her Switch. Soon, Layla’s body became limp, with the only thing that remained firm being her hands as she was holding her game console. Even in that tiring state, the cheerful goth had enough energy to keep her Switch at her eye level thanks to her desire to ire the colorful and hypnotic swirl.
“Such a nice spiral…I don’t want to…look away…don’t want this…to stop…” Her statement came at the same time her blue eyes changed into swirls of orange and purple. Layla still had a small chance to break free from that state of calmness, but because the cheerful goth was taken by those bright and hypnotic colors, the idea of wanting to look away or resist just faded away, just like her desire to delight herself with a bag of gummies and one of her favorite video games “I love the spiral, watching them makes me happy…so happy…”
Her positive attitude was turned against as Layla’s curiosity was the reason why she was taken by the spirals. One small idea in her mind was wondering why her game console had those hypnotic colors, but of course, instead of trying to turn it off to see if there was a problem, she became mindless, affected by that nice spiral and the way it moved. It was bad, but at that point, there was nothing the short-haired gal could do, she was at the mercy of the colorful spirals and the ideas that were indulged in her mind.
“So nice…so pretty…so…so…” too dazed to even talk, the cheerful goth stopped trying to say what she thought and instead remained silent, continuing to lay on the couch and ire those hypnotic colors. Layla let her resistance down and ignored any idea that wasn’t looking at the spiral and embracing the ideas in her mind. There was one that the short-haired gal couldn’t understand, something about letting herself be taken by the powers of the spiral. The reason why she considered that strange wasn’t because this was her trying to break free from that state of bliss, Layla thought it was a strange idea because she believed she already did that.
A few minutes looking at the bright and hypnotic spiral was enough to make her submit completely to it, having no intentions to fight back or question what would happen to her. The goth gal was at the beck of the captivating colors, ready to accept any idea or suggestion as long as she could get more of that nice feeling that she loved. Soon, another idea ed through her mind, obviously a suggestion that the Switch indulged in her mind and just like the others, the cheerful goth accepted it on the spot, which made a phrase appear in front of the orange and purple spirals.
“Press Start to update”
Layla didn’t think twice before doing that, carefully pressing the start button on her game console, wondering if this would help her achieve more of that nice feeling she couldn’t get enough of. Once the colorful spirals took over the screen of her game console again, the cheerful goth went back to ire the hypnotic spirals, oblivious to the fact that her own body was starting to change. Her dark outfit and black started to shine, the former turned purple and the latter became orange, colors that were of a similar shade of both the spirals that hypnotized the cheerful goth and her new joysticks.
“Pretty colors…pretty…colors…” chuckling softly, the cheerful goth let herself be overwhelmed by that dreamlike sensation, Layla kept looking at the screen of her game console while her body was affected by more changes. Her dark boots, an attire that she considered her favorite, started to shine at the same time her legs slowly fused together. The process was far from painless, Layla even giggled in pleasure and because it tickled. Nonetheless, the cheerful goth remained firm, continuing to hold the game console so she could keep looking at those colorful spirals. Although unsure about what would happen to her, the goth gal stopped worrying and let her body be affected by the changes.
It didn’t take much time for her legs and the lower part of her attire to turn into a bright purple genie tail. As the tip of her newly acquired tail moved closer to the game console she was holding, Layla giggled again, enjoying the same kind of ecstatic sensation, albeit this time around her upper body. What was left of her elegant yet flirty goth outfit slowly became small and soon it became a top, leaving her belly to be exposed. Just like the first part of the djinnification, the short-haired gal was overwhelmed by a dreamlike sensation that continued even after her body was modified.
The last change was a simple one as the goth gal received a pair of blue earrings and after the spirals on her Switch stopped, Layla closed her eyes, letting herself be taken by that elated sensation one last time before coming to her senses. She felt groggy and took a moment to what she was doing, but as the cheerful goth looked down at her Switch, she looked at her reflection, discovering that she had become a genie. Her tail and left eye became of the same shade of purple as one of the joysticks and what was left of her outfit and her right eye was of the orange shade of the other controller. This would have been enough for her to freak out, but as Layla gasped in surprise, her expression quickly turned into a smile as she was happy with what she saw.
“I love this! I love my tail and my new outfit!” Layla said out loud, smiling while she ired her new form. It was just like what was in her mind the moment she looked at her two new joysticks, she preferred dark colors yet, they still looked nice and the short-haired gal had the same opinion with her genie tail and top. In the end, while it was something unexpected, the cheerful goth was very happy. “If I’m a genie, that means I have the power to grant wishes! Oh! I could go out and find someone to help. Yeah! I’ll go and find someone to grant wishes…once I finish my game, I’m close to having all the golden symbols on the No Hope difficulty.”
Giggling, the cheerful goth used her genie tail to bring her Switch, which was also her vessel. Layla’s gaming night was different from what she expected, but even though things took a turn, the cheerful goth was far from unsatisfied as she got a lot more than she expected. Her game console worked, she had a bag of her favorite brand of gummies and, the best part, she became a genie, with a colorful outfit and exceptional abilities that she would use for good, but before the genie short-haired genie could go out and test her new abilities, she had one important thing to do.

Genie of the SwitchAfter waiting for almost a week, Layla was happy to have her Switch back.
