I must ask, how do you pick out such nice background colors that still make the character pop? This is something I struggle with, but your simple backgrounds are always fantastic.
generally speaking I focus on the main colors of the character and choose the color opposite of the color wheel. As example, this character is mainly pink, so I would go for a blueish/green background. I also tend to lighten the background near the face, (or in this case I chose to do a lighter pattern) to make your eyes naturally focus onto it! Pinterest is also an awesome place to look for color palates, I tend to go there if I get stuck on colors! I hope this helps a little, haha :3
