The ring of the doorbell sounded out through the small house followed shortly by sound of said door unlocking.
The door swung open with a cheery moogle barely reaching the height of the door handle greeting the ones outside on the building's porch.
"Cody! Zeelo! Hello and welcome in!" The alien fox and snow leopard both wave, greeting in kind.
"Hello, Erakir!" Zeelo greeted, the snow leopard swishing his tail a bit and walked right in after Erakir stepped aside with Cody following close behind."Hi there! Hope we didn't keep you waiting, heh."
"Oh, not at all!" Erakir responded, leading the two over into the living room. "In fact you're a bit early, I haven't finished all the preperations yet!"
"That's okay, it's just a comfortable hangout among friends, no need to stress about having things prepared." Zeelo smiled reassuringly.
The moogle nodded, but also had to add some dramatic tone to it all for fun. "Of course! But the games, the beverages! A hangout without snacks is no hangout at all!"
Cody just giggled. "If it helps, I brought my own kind of snacks, so no need to worry about me."
Erakir looked over at Cody and shook his head. "Truly an outrageous state when guests have to bring their own snacks!"
This entire exchange went on for a few more minutes, ending mostly in just laughter between the three. After a while everyone settled down.
Cody and Zeelo were told to make themselves at home, board games were packed out and played and a good few hours were spent with some fun
After the energy for that died down a little bit Erakir got up and stretched some. "Now I am actually going to get us some snacks, I shall be right back!"
The moogle was about to leave before Cody let out a curious "Oh!" The Technimal's eyes wandered around the room, taking in all the various things.
From Erakir's adventuring gear neatly placed nearby, to various different books in shelves of books, and it was those books that piqued the alien fox's interest. "Before you go, what are all these books about?"
Zeelo, too, looked over at the books with curiosity after they had been pointed out.
"Oh those?" Erakir responded, "they're just a collection of books I amassed over time, lots of spell books, summoning stuff, magic things! Feel free to take a look! I'll grab the snacks for us! Or for Zeelo and I, you had your own snacks, silly alien."
The moogle teased and left the room with a bit of a spring in his step.
Once their host was out of the room, Cody and Zeelo exchanged a glance and a smile and pretty much thought the same.
Erakir did say they should feel free to take a look, and that is exactly what they did. Grabbing a few books that seemed interesting or some with peculiar titles to browse through their contents for a few minutes while they got comfortable on the soft carpeted floor.
The books laid spread out infront of them some. Zeelo skimmed through some of the pages of the summoning book he sat back against the couch with.
"Lots of good ones in this summoning book.. Where'd Erakir get these?" The snow leopard wondered, he was a little bit more familiar with magic than Cody, but even he had never seen some of the spells in Erakir's collection.
Cody chuckled, slowly going through the book in front of him.
"Who knows? He goes adventuring a lot so maybe some stuff he just found in some places and picked up. This book here has some really strange spells, too, if I read that right.. me-ta-morph-osis spells or something.. with diagrams of.. furniture and other stuff, heh."
"Really?" Zeelo raised a brow and put his book aside to sit next to Cody, taking a look, too. "Huh.. a book about turning stuff into furniture or other objects.."
"Yup!" Cody nodded. "No idea why Erakir would need that, maybe just for fun?"
"Maybe?" Zeelo responded, flipping another page, then another.
The subjects getting progressively more silly. Furniture like chairs, tables, drawers, little knicknacks like figurines, plushies,.. leading into clothing, jackets, shoes, stockings.. the little curiously confused deep dive through that book only got interrupted by the sound of a bowl hitting the floor in the nearby kitchen.
The snow leopard and alien fox jolted up a bit and looked over towards the kitchen with their ears perked up, asking "Everything alright?" practically at the same time.
To which a response sounded out from the kitchen. "Yeah, yeah! Just a little clumsy oopsie! Almost done!" followed by a barely audible, "ah crumbs everywhere, clumsy me.."
The sudden noise and jolt of the two didn't really have Cody and Zeelo realize until a moment later, that the page they ended on was glowing faintly, in part thanks to Zeelo's paw having absentmindedly landed right on top of the spell circle drawn in the page's center.
The snow leopard swiftly withdrew his paw albeit a bit to late, the page glowed up stronger.
Cody and Zeelo exchanged a glance with just a little "Oops?" coming from their muzzles before the magic completely enveloped them.
They weren't even sure what spell it was exactly other than some object spell, next thing they knew is that they felt tingly, softer, looser. Looking over each other they noticed their features starting to merge.
Zeelo's arm and paws simplified, lost definition and started to stick to his sides as a fabric texture overtook his fur.
His tail and legs started to blend into each other with his feetpaws strangely coiling around, merging into each other and into his tail as soft woven fabric. A slight hollow feeling coursed through him as he grew ever more limp.
Similar changes swept over Cody, arms sticking to his side, fingers losing definition, fur taking on a more woven fabric look from tip of his ears to his toes.
Legs and tail merged into each other to shape an equally limp big of fabric.
It wasn't too clear to them from their perspective what they are becoming, especially as they have a tricky time getting a good look at themselves or each other as their bodies became ever more loose and floppy as if someone just deflated them.
It all went pretty fast, too, fast enough for them to barely open their muzzle's in reaction before fabric took those over.
Their heads changing, ears shrinking, muzzle flattening with fabric taking over features like their eyes, soft woven-in pads took over their faces before the magic swiftly shrunk them down in size and they flopped on the book.
Both turned into a soft and warm sock fittingly styled to their fur patterns and looks.
"Uhh-" Cody let out awkwardly, with Zeelo responding in kind, "Uhm- w-well that happened?"
"At least we can communicate?" Cody noted in surprise. "What did we even turn into exactly?"
"Honestly.. no real clue, some kind of clothing? Feeling rather warm.. and soft. Fabric and all. Probably clothing."
Cody, who's face- or what was his face before- was planted flatly on the page could somewhat make out the letters. "Wait, I uh, think I can read.. some here? uhm.. S-Socks?"
"We turned into socks? huh.." Zeelo wasn't sure what to feel of this predicament. "Let's hope Erakir notices and turns us back."
Speaking of Erakir, the moogle, non-the-wiser of what just happened, walks into the living room carrying two filled bowls with snacks and two bags of chips under his arms.
"Alright! Sorry for the wait, snacks have arriii-" The moogle blinked, finding only a guest-less living room before him. "-iived? Cody? Zeelo? Huh, where'd they go?"To be continued~Alright time for me to go overboard again with story writing, hope it is fun! The next one is going to be even longer, oops~ X3
Anyways, just fun silly thing wanted to try out. Silly transformation into socks! And what better way to try out some new things than with friends, heh.
