[Com] Temple of the True Self by AlphaGodith

Draythix had heard stories about a strange temple with a mystical pool that revealed the true self of whoever bathed in it. Intrigued by these stories and wondering if the pool would help him solidify the bond between his human and draconic halves, he sought out the temple and found the strange pool within it. As he stepped in, he began having misgivings about the temple's makers but decided that he didn't want to leave empty-handed.
Upon stepping into the pool, he was surprised by his strange reflection. The dragon he saw had shiny red skin instead of Draythix's coppery scales and a peculiar grin that worried him. Determined to understand the image, Draythix focused all his senses on the pool in an effort to learn how it worked. The pool seemed to be feeding off a combination of Draytex's physical and mental energy, but why would it show him a red dragon? Was this supposed to be his inner self?
Suddenly, the entire pool turned red and viscous. Draythix reflexively tried to leap to safety but found himself glued to the floor as the unexpectedly heavy liquid gripped his legs. Making matters worse, the transformed liquid began crawling up his scales!
Typically, Draythix was powerful enough to use brute force against anything that could endanger him, but his fire and light energy didn't work well against liquids! All he could do was squirm as the liquid spread over his body, forming a strangely rubbery second skin. His mind suddenly grew hazy as Draythix felt some repressed part of himself drawn out by the pool's magic.
After his body was entirely enveloped, Draythix felt strangely... free. It was as if some of his inhibitions had melted away, and he couldn't help but think that his new shiny red skin felt nice...This was an early attempt at creating an origin story for Draytex that AlphaGodith and I came up with years ago, but I got writter's block when trying to produce the story. I should have just posted this thing anyway, but here it is now at least! This is now a non-cannon origin, but the sequence is still fun!

Sorry, but the phrase "true self" always makes me think of this line!
I am pretty sure i already knew this... but for some reason i seemingly forgot XD and i had to make sure! :P
Made me feel slightly confused but... i think its clear to me now. Though its... hmmm it feel as as if the red one is more insistent on being in charge almost always :D
