Gallantmon is not just dealing with his separation anxiety by taking Takato everywhere with him, he's also trying to make up for the brief time he had with Takato when he was on Earth, having to spend his nights in the shrine shed as Takato spent most of his time at school.
Now Takato goes with him everywhere and sleeps in his room and eats at his table.
Falling asleep is a pretty safe reaction to the situation, and literally no one will wake Takato up or scold him for ing out at a meeting.
Which means Takato gets to avoid seeing how everyone stares at him like a napping kitten during these events
Now anytime somebody sneezes Gallantmon is like "WHERE\S MY BABY?!?!?!? WHERE'S TAKATO!?!?!?!"
