This was a very emotional piece for me to work on, having recently lost Moredena to a senseless tragedy. Moredena was a good friend for many years and my wife and I were lucky enough to have been present for some big life moments for her and Laurel, including their beautiful wedding. I will always her beaming smile, her warm hugs, how she made me laugh, and her constant encouragement and moral . I was blessed to have had her in my life, and I will miss her dearly, but hold her memory close. This piece was also a bit of catharsis in that I was able to create a moment of peace and happiness for the two of them, if only on paper.

This is a beautiful memorial piece. I think she was quite blessed to have you in her life too, Kacey. It sounded like you and she had a truly good friendship going. Losing a friend like that leaves a hole that never fully heals... I know.
