Winter time has been a rough time for Veluren for most of the several decades he's been alive, the trauma of his first death on a frozen lake, snow falling around him has eternally stained his mind with memories of pains and traumas when he sees the world blanketed in silence and whiteness.
But then the best thing entered Vel's life some years ago; his mate Ran'dol was introduced to him and the two hit it off spectacularly, quickly falling into a deep and ionate love.
Ran'dol doesn't care much for the winter and the snow himself, being from the desert continent of Ixiaver he's not used to the cold, especially not the high altitude chill that can be found in Veluren's mountainside den.
But that just makes for another perfect showing of why the two are perfect for one another.
For Veluren, Ran'dol is a stabilizing presence in his life, someone he can focus his love and care on and a sign of a happy eternal future that distances his mind from tragedy. And for Ran'dol, cuddly as Vel is and always somewhere between pleasantly warm to steaming hot as a fire dragon, as long as the two are together he can sit in the cold and never feel its chill bite at him.
Ran'dol kept warm and covered and Vel kept grounded and happy, the two dragons lay at the mouth of Vel's den, nuzzling and cuddling with Vel's wing as a heated blanket for his mate as they watch the snow fall, eternally thankful for each other as Vel looks outside and can perceive beauty in the falling snow for the first time in decades.Happy new year folks!
I figured this one wouldn't be done in time to make it a second Christmas present, so instead I went with a general "winter" theme of Vel and Ran'dol being comfortable and cuddled up together.
The person behind the screen doesn't actually hate winter, I actually love the cold months and adore snowfall, but for character reasons related to his backstory, there's some trauma and pain associated with the time of the year and the weather for Vel-Dragon. Of course, I've certianly had some rough times in real life too that him being here for me has helped to ground me on, so even outside of this fantastical scenario, I feel like the symbolism still has effect, I owe him, and love him, so so much.

These two radiate such a wonderful vibes and radiance of love and warmth that emits from their very souls that you can feel it yourself
I love when such strong and beautiful creatures are so gentle and cute with each other
With such love and its eternal power no cold is scary and even you will be chilled by it a bit you will be together to share the same problem
Isn't it what is love about? Even in misfortunes and sufferings you always stand together and share burdens
Beautiful. Simply beautiful!
