Songs of Fidonhaal: Winter's Embrace

A little something I thought might be fitting for the Winter Solstice, given my setting's cultural contexts. ;3
...
Here is a song from the world of Fidonhaal, my fantasy-adventure setting.
As I continue to try to work my way toward writing another entry for the overall Saga of Fidonhaal, I thought I'd toss up some of the songs/poems that I've done for the setting and its stories from time to time.
Right now, there's just a few that have been featured in the novel Daughters of the East, and one that I've done/am working on for what I'm anticipating as my next "thing" for the Fidonhaal library. These others might be posted in due time, but for now, I figured I'd put up this one, which is from my debut book, Daughters of the East.
This is a seasonal/holiday/holy-day song for Winter, which was particularly done by a young bard-apprentice in honor of his world's "First Day of Winter" holiday.
This is being posted so that folks can read it on its own, as well as have a few lore-tidbits to glance at for a sense of the cultural context of the song.
I hope you find it interesting!

WINTER’S EMBRACE
Lucas Gant
…
A song of the Fidons, dedicated to the season of Winter, the season’s “patron-angel,” named Sardoth, and some of the associations with said season and angel. Written by one Donovan Velavis/Greenheart, who was a young apprentice to a seasoned bard at the time. First featured in the novel The Saga of Fidonhaal: Daughters of the East, which is available in both digital-book and print-on-demand paperback formats on Amazon.com.

CULTURAL CONTEXT NOTES
• Onu:
The monotheistic deity of the Fidons, who regard him as the sole and supreme creator of existence. Onu’s name translates quite simply to “The One.”
• Sardoth:
The Angel of Winter in Fidonhaal lore. Described by s from those who have encountered him as burly and barrel-chested in physique, with long hair and beard, and wearing a crown fashioned from holly and the branches of evergreen trees such as pine. He is known as fairly taciturn, but kindly. When manifesting before mortals, he is generally seen as carrying a great woodsman’s axe, and glows with an “icy blue” light.
The land falls asleep in winter’s embrace,
To rest until the return of spring’s grace.
So, come again, Sardoth, come again, friend,
And watch the land as you usher the end
Of autumn’s hold, and the return of cold
And thus partake in life’s endless turnings.
When you arrive, many things away,
But other things come, and in their place stay
Until their own turn comes to away.
But none of these ings are forever,
For in Onu’s sight, full death comes never,
And all things good dwell with him forever.
The land falls asleep in winter’s embrace,
To rest until the return of spring’s grace.
So, come again, Sardoth, come again, friend,
And watch the land as you usher the end
Of autumn’s hold, and the return of cold
And thus partake in life’s endless turnings.
Your time, Sardoth, heralds many endings,
But a time there is for everything,
And ends always mark a new beginning.
The losses I’ve had have turned into gains;
I keep that to heart whenever in pain
And trust what I’ve lost, I’ll one day regain.
The land falls asleep in winter’s embrace,
To rest until the return of spring’s grace.
So, come again, Sardoth, come again, friend,
And watch the land as you usher the end
Of autumn’s hold, and the return of cold
And thus partake in life’s endless turnings.
