While Yuna valiantly tried to sequence the dragons genome she could never get anything sensible readings and even more advanced analysis methods did not yield much in of sensible output.
The right variant of the DNA seems most likely right now just based on some X-ray analysis and elemental composition analysis. Though she's quite sure that this is far from a complete picture but simply lacks the means to investigate further.
What was much simpler to investigate were the scales though. She learned a lot about them in little time. What was surprising is how comparatively little metal they contain for their hardness and corrosion resistance. Another unexpected revelation was their high resistance to heat, even when detached from the dragon.
