Meet Tulius Iperian! Born on Invictus, life was difficult growing up in a harsh planet where half the population was dabbling in some level of crime. He had been raised to keep his head ducked and to look the other way – an attitude needed to survive in a criminal hotbed – and had done a fairly decent job of doing so until one day he found their small rundown house with its door bashed in and windows broken. It was a common occurrence but for the first time Tulius couldn’t bare the idea of helping his father hastily board up the windows and try to bounce back… he wanted to find whoever did this and get back what had been stolen!
Over the course of the next few weeks, he had snuck himself into the various underground markets, tracked down their stolen items, worked his way through the shifting hands said goods had ed through until he had finally spotted the sneering turian who had robbed from them to begin with. He couldn’t exactly turn them in – Invictus’ police force didn’t dare touch the actual crime occurring knowing full damn well they were vastly outnumbered – so Tulius had settled for punching the man in the face and taking back what few items, the thief hadn’t managed to sell yet. It felt good.
It was the next day later that he realised he missed the whole thing. Tailing people, sneaking around, asking questions, putting pieces together… the last few weeks he had felt so much more alive than he had ever felt trying to scrape a life here – for the first time he felt like he was doing something of value.
He couldn’t turn back now. With the lack of actual police to keep the order, there was a surprisingly large market for people who were willing to do what enforcers would not. The fact he was operating outside of the law did technically make Tulius a vigilante but… really, he preferred the title of ‘Private Investigator’ – like the cool turians in books who would scan over crime scenes and deduct everything in seconds…
He was… sloppy at first. Nearly died on at least four occasions with the scars to prove it – but soon Tulius got to a point where he was actually pretty decent at what he did. In fact… too decent – as it turned out making a name for yourself solving crimes on a planet where that was the norm resulted in a significant amount of people wanting your head on a stick. Thankfully with the money he earnt, Tulius finally had enough to move him and his father off-planet and to the place he had always dreamt of… the Citadel.
It was rather disappointing then when he realised life in the Citadel Wards felt remarkably similar to Invictus – though, at the very least C-Sec enforcers at least tried to keep control, even with how stretched thin they were. It was Tulius gain though – once more the detective had found himself with a market rife for need of his skills…
Today he was undercover as some CEO for a medium-level tech company trying to gather proof of an illegal insider-trading scandal – tomorrow he might be hired by some suspicious spouse wanting confirmation of their partner’s infidelity. Whatever the job, Tulius was up for it.
…hell, maybe he’d keep the suit after this~

Happy N7 day!
This is a fantastic commission I grabbed from Leafjuly on Twitter!
This is from pretty early into the year when my friends made me finally play Mass Effect for real – lots of them have their own Mass Effect OC’s so I was like… well, why not get one of my own? It was tough to decide between a quarian lad and a turian lad… though Tulius won in the end :)
