Lilian finds the calmness of the moon's glow to help her focus plenty of times when doing her usual witch work. Potion making or spell crafting all seem to feel tied to the night and the powers of the moon. After all, her own coven takes after the moon that she's a part of. Whether it may be for naught, she refuses to stop trying new things. A pinch of this, a dash of that, stirring sunwise then widdershins. Everything had a place, a time, a specific parameter.
Even though her energetic nature often could be a bit much, she could focus like no other when the time came. The only issues otherwise would be whether or not her new potion or spell might backfire. She rather not wake the dead with such a loud explosion. Fumes and smoke rise high with a glow of color that made it hard to pinpoint what hue was being shown. Lilian stirred and peered into her cauldron she had set out a nice distance from the coven. It looked like things were coming along far better than usual. Even 'mother' liked how smoothly the night had been going, handing over an ingredient and patiently waiting.
"Almost there," Lily said softly, pulling up the broom she had been using to stir.
The concoction dripped and flowed along the item like molasses. Odd, seeing as it had no resistance when she went back to mixing. The plumes of smoke, hazy and almost dreamlike, wafted from the open top of the pot as if to escape the dread that was boiling within. Lily's bang flowed before her vision as the wind blew then settled once more. Everything had to be perfect. Just like the spell boxes for wishes. It shouldn't take much more time, seeing at the moon was reaching its highest point in the sky.
A few more stirs and the witch took in a deep breath before relaxing some. All that was left was to sprinkle a few other ingredients and it would be done. The veil seeing potion could open one's eyes to things not meant to be seen. It could also just making one simply go on quite the trip, depending on the person. Maybe there was a bit of overlap but the coven had been low and Lily had offered to help. The potion itself would never stop glowing. An eerie light would always somehow be within as if it were alive.
Grabbing some sage and letting 'mother' curl around a few cloves of other reagents, the witch finished her work. Tearing leaves, twisting stems, cutting stalks. It all went into the pot and made the viscous fluid bubble and lift before settling. The moonlight hovered above, shining on the liquid inside the iron cauldron which made the whole area light up for a good minute. Then the darkness flooded back, staying at bay only from the glowing potion. It was done.
"This should last until next year," said the cat to nobody.
Bottles clanking about, 'mother' pulled one forth as Lilian grabbed a ladle and began to careful pour the mixture into each glass. It would take a bit to empty the cauldron but there would be plenty of the potion for her coven and then some. She never truly understood the reasoning behind the potion itself other than it let one see through more than what was set in their 'world' or something like that. Lily may not have paid attention too well when one of the sisters had tries explaining it. At least she could earn some praise!
"Wonder what it tastes like...?" Lily spoke out and sniffed at one bottle before shrugging and setting it aside.
Maybe another time.
