Once again, Shine's been kidnapped, but this time it's by her nemesis, Miss Leone, who seems to have big plans for her. Why does she have it out for Shine so much?
Well, Shine herself has an answer for this. She said that, and I quote, when the two were younger, Leone kept to herself for the most part. Shine, having a big heart for someone so young, tried reaching out to her as a means of friendship. For a while, the two did seem to have a good friendship forming. That changed, however, when it came time for adoption. Shine wanted Leone to go first, because she wanted her friend to be happy and loved by a family at last, but the family was repulsed by Leone and chose Shine instead. It's a day that haunts both of them, for different reasons. All Shine wanted was for her friend to finally be loved and happy. Miss Leone, however, whenever she recalls it, believed that Shine did it on purpose.
It's similar to what happened to Syndrome in the first Incredibles movie, when he "recalled" the day Mr. Incredible told him he works alone. In reality, he was in a dangerous position while the hero was dealing with a villain. But in the memory from Syndrome's perspective, we saw nothing of the kind. So, in a way, Miss Leone and Syndrome have similar motivations. Kinda makes you feel bad for them, doesn't it?
Anyway, let's hope Shine can get out of this mess soon! Her friends and family must be worried sick about her.
Oh, and another thing: I'm fully aware that Shine's updated her character's design. I've drawn this LONG before that happened. I asked her if I could this regardless, and she said yes. In-universe, however, this could still happen before she changed her look.
