Kinda surprised Star didn't just say "friend of the family". Her dad's some big-shot officer, probably met a few dozen Special Forces , hung a few medals, met a *certain* officer with a bit of spunk. You'd be surprised how well-connected the military world can be.

While funny for story, while on base, most personnel do not use outside nicknames. Rank and last name with some exceptions for parties within units and then it would usually be first name.
