Vee had trouble turning into aquatic creatures when he first got his shapeshifting powers. He could never get the gills working just quite right. Tali and some of Vee's other aquatic friends hatched a plan to help him out. A fake boat crash to help force Vee into some aquatic forms, using Tali's coast guard shipwreck practice disguised as a relaxing cruse around the islands for Vee. That way Tali and the rest of her coast guard crew would be around in case something went wrong.
It all worked out in the end. Vee was able to change into a shark and learned how to breath through his new gills. The gender change and losing about a foot of height was a bit unexpected. Vee chalked it up as his subconscious thinking of Tali and and Liam for inspiration, as they are the best swimmers Vee knows. Tali and other friends teased Vee a bit in good fun over the extra changes. It took Vee a few weeks to get used to the form before he was able to change back to a more "normal" form. Aquatic forms were no longer an issue for him after that experience.

Lex-i 's Discord server doing an Aquatic theme for our characters to be turned into. And it gave me some ideas to flesh out Vee's backstory and his world a bit more!
