This gouache painting captures the view over hinze dam during a recent camping trip. We followed the mountain roads up to our campsite during golden hour and the sky turned such a pale yellow green as we ed the single lane wooden bridges. This lighting really added to the haunting atmosphere of the dead eucalypts found at the waters edge.

I was recently watching a video about Australian scenery and places like this showed up often. There's nothing like this where I live, even in swamps and lowlands our trees remain dark trunked and leafy, if sparse. This feels like another world and it's beautiful.

I used to paint swamps and lots of snow for the same reason! The juxtaposition between what I see everyday really inspired a lot of my development. Thank you so much, it felt so eerie and calm at the time.
