This painting features the dog beach we take our two small dogs to every Summer. The colours of the area change with the seasons, but during the height of summer at middle tide the sand is almost clay like in colour and the rocks green. This painting is featured in a series documenting all the different states of the beach in that area over the seasons.

Do you mix your own colors when using gouache?
I'm trying to learn realistic expectations as I try to improve.
The only traditional paint I’ve used so far is watercolor (barely) but as I learn digital painting I want try and keep that traditional feel.
