Over the course of 2 weeks, Celestine spent her time at her grandfather’s house conversing with him and reminiscing about the times the two shared both in and out of church. As time progressed and his condition began to worsen, Celestine’s grandfather still held on to his jovial and comforting demeanor, not wanting to worry his granddaughter. As time went on, Celestine and her grandfather received various visitors; whether it be the former’s parents who stopped by to deliver meals and converse with the elder, or various church who wished to pay respects to the saint during his final days. However, it was during the end of the 2 week cycle that Celestine’s grandfather knew his time had finally arrived. Nearing the final day, Celestine’s grandfather’s senses began to fail him and he became less coherent overtime. Seeing her grandfather in this condition, filled Celestine with sorrow, knowing full well that her beloved elder was near his end. On the final day, even though Celestine couldn’t help but cry at the prospect of losing her grandfather; but as she lied her head atop his bed and shed tears, she felt his frail hand atop her head. Slowly looking up, Celestine was met with a weak but still glowing smile from her grandfather who told her how his time had arrived and how he was sorry that he couldn’t see the ewe on her birthday; but went on to say he had a gift for her. As he weakly reached into his bedside drawer, the old man told Celestine how proud he was and how he knew that he left a magnificent saint behind. Through her tears, Celestine questioned what her grandfather meant by this, leading to him chuckling weakly. From the drawer, the old saint pulled out a magnificently decorated bible with Celestine’s name emblazed on it, handing it to his granddaughter right after. The old man then told Celestine that the bible was a birthday present from him and the other saints of the cathedral, going on to say that she was now a saint. Baffled, Celestine looked at her grandfather in utter shock, proclaiming that she couldn’t be a saint, especially without his guidance. The sickly old man chuckled and said that the decision was not solely his own, as the other saints believed strongly in Celestine and that she had long since proven her worth. Holding the elder’s hand, Celestine begged her grandfather not to leave her as she cried profusely. The dying elder gave his grandchild a soft assuring pat on her hands, claiming that though he may be leaving, he would always be with her, watching over from heaven along with god. Lying down, Celestine’s grandfather told his grandchild how much he loved her and that she should always to keep her faith strong. It was then that the old saint closed his eyes with a smile on his face, only this time, he never reopened them. Gripping her departed grandfather’s hands firmly, as Celestine felt the last of his life slip away, she shed a steady flow of tears promising that she would indeed keep her faith strong. Heartbroken, Celestine slept on her grandfather’s couch that night and as she cried herself to sleep, recounted all of her fond memories of him one last time.
The next day, Celestine awoke and checked on her grandfather, only to be disappointed that everything that happened was not a dream and that he was truly gone. Leaving her beloved elder’s home, Celestine relayed the news to both the saints and her parents, with both parties shedding tears upon hearing of the old man’s ing. After a week, Celestine found herself in the cathedral amongst the other saints, her parents, and a large gathering of people; all of whom where there to see the burial of the deceased saint. As the ceremony progressed, Celestine was called upon to say a few words in regards to her elder’s ing; and though her pain was still prevalent within her heart, she fought back her tears long enough to deliver a heartfelt speech about her grandfather and how much he meant to her. After her grandfather’s burial, Celestine was approached by various citizens and of the church, all of whom extended their condolences and offered words of to the grieving ewe. Upon the funeral concluding, Celestine began to depart with her family, only to be stopped by the saints, telling her to take as much time as she needed before returning to them. Thanking the saints, Celestine went home with her parents, still trying to process everything that had happened. For several days, Celestine lied in bed due to her sorrow, with her parents checking on her to make sure that she was alright. However, as she lied in bed, her father walked into her room and stated how he had finished cleaning out his father’s home, stating that the old man left everything to the family in his will upon his death. It was then that Celestine’s father handed his daughter a book, stating how he believed it was hers. Setting the book on the nightstand next to his daughter’s bed, Celestine’s father told his saddened child that if there was anything she needed, to call either him or her mother before leaving her alone. Turning over, Celestine looked at the book on her nightstand and immediately recognized it. Reaching out and grabbing the book, Celestine stared at its cover for a moment without so much as uttering a word. In her hands, Celestine held the special bible that was bestowed upon her for making the status of saint; and in this moment the sheep recalled what her grandfather told her about not losing faith and how much he loved her. These words, instead of saddening Celestine even further, caused her to smile genuinely; and after a moment of thinking, believed that sitting in bed was not honoring the words her grandfather. Getting up from bed, Celestine decided that she should press on. For the rest of the day, Celestine interacted with her family to let them know she was ok and what she had planned to do for the future.
The following day, Celestine went back to the church and was greeted warmly by the various church who were tending to their duties. It was then that Celestine was greeted by the saints, all of whom were happy to see that she was better. However, it was then that one of the saints spoke to Celestine telling her of something that needed to be discussed. Hearing the seriousness in the man’s voice, caused the sheep to perk up her ears. The man told Celestine that due to her diligence and faith, that she had acquired the rank of saint. Smiling, Celestine told the man that she was aware of it due to her grandfather telling her before his ing, going as far as to show the bible as proof. Upon seeing the book and hearing Celestine’s ittance that she already knew, the man asked if the sheep accepted; to which Celestine said yes. Hearing her response, the other saints clapped and congratulated Celestine, stating that the ceremony would be hosted the coming Sunday; something that made the sheep smile. As promised, several days later a large ceremony was held in Celestine’s honor where she was presented her special attire and new title where all in attendance applauded her, with her parents showcasing their pride and happiness amongst the crowd. After attaining her new title and ensemble, Celestine was asked by the other saints to say something to everyone in the church; and though she was slightly taken aback due to not having anything prepared, she knew exactly what to say. Clasping her attire to her chest, Celestine took a deep breath and began addressing the various and visitors of the church. Celestine proudly proclaimed that she would do her best to help cement and nurture everyone’s faith, stating how she would do her best for the church and those in need of salvation; ready to fulfil the role that her grandfather had spent so much time teaching her to do. Hearing her words, everyone applauded Celestine with her parents cheering loudly for her. After the ceremony, Celestine stayed behind so the saints could explain her new duties to her, all the while they expressed their happiness in having her amongst their rank. After listening to everything she was now responsibly for, Celestine felt herself being slightly overwhelmed, but her faith and her grandfather’s words kept her focused and calm on the matter. Agreeing to all the duties bestowed upon her, Celestine left the cathedral with a smile, ready begin her responsibilities as the newest saint of the cathedral and continue the legacy her grandfather set for her.
Over the following years, Celestine dutifully tended to her responsibilities as a saint, making both the other church and her parents proud. As time went on, Celestine found herself attending various functions that the she and the other saints put together, hosting various sermons, tending to those who sought guidance through the confessionals, initiating prayers for those who visited the church, and overseeing the younger of the cathedral. However, as time progressed, Celestine began to think on the parting words her grandfather gave her, and developed a strong urge to on her faith to others beyond her home; believing that she could instill hope into others if she was permitted to go beyond the city. After a while of consideration and reflection, Celestine knew what course of action she wished to take. One day, Celestine held a meeting with the other saints of the church, requesting permission to go on her own venture beyond the city. Somewhat confused, the other saints questioned Celestine’s choice, asking why she felt the need to take on such a venture. Celestine, with determination and conviction, told the saints that she wished to spread faith and hope to those in need of it similar to what her grandfather did before her; stating that she desired to be a saint not just for the people of the city, but for others as well. Moved by her declaration, the saints spoke amongst themselves for a moment, and after consideration, allowed Celestine to go beyond the city to do what she set out to do. Celestine thanked the saints and vowed that she would continue to spread holy influence to various towns so that others could keep their faith and hope alive in the face of hardship. The saints thanked Celestine and in a gesture of faith, all prayed for her, knowing that she would continue to make them proud. Thanking the saints for their kindness and understanding, Celestine departed the cathedral and went home, telling her parents of the pilgrimage she would be undertaking. Though her parents were ive, they couldn’t help but worry for their daughter’s safety. Celestine couldn’t help but smile as she assured her mother and father that she would be alright and that one day she would return to them with much to tell. Celestine’s parents embraced their determined daughter, telling her to be safe on her travels and that they would continue their prayers of her. Celestine basked in the love of her parents as she hugged them firmly, assured that what she was doing would greatly benefit others and yield positive change. That night, Celestine packed her things, ready for her venture, propelled by a sense of duty and determination.
The next morning, Celestine had a filling breakfast with her parents all the while talking about her hopes for her venture and her all she wished to accomplish; with them giving her their unwavering . After finishing the meal, Celestine said a thoughtful pray for her family before saying her goodbyes. Hugging her parents goodbye and promising she would one day be back, Celestine prepared to leave the city, but before she could depart, she had one more stop to make. Stopping by a flower stand, Celestine purchased a large bouquet and visited the city’s cemetery. As Celestine ed the various graves, she stopped by one she was all too familiar with. Kneeling down and setting the bouquet on top of the grave, Celestine smiled as she began speaking to her grandfather. Celestine spoke to her grandfather about what she setting out to do and how much she appreciated and loved him for helping her get to her current point. Celestine told her grandfather how she was going to make him proud and instill faith into those who needed it, just like he did with her. Saying a deep prayer, Celestine asked both her grandfather and god to give her the strength to succeed on her journey. Finishing her prayer, Celestine left the cemetery and the city soon after, finally embarking on her journey.
Over the next year, Celestine traveled to various towns, usually leaving every 2 months. During her time in each town, Celestine would assist in the emotional and mental plights that the townspeople faced; and due to her holy visage, she would commonly be welcomed into each town’s church or be approached by people in need of guidance. Due to Celestine’s desire to help others and lead them down the right path, many would showcase their iration and gratitude towards her by bestowing her with gifts and offerings; and despite her reluctance to accept them, many would insist that she take their contributions, which she was unable to refuse afterwards. Seeing people both young and old gain peace of mind and newfound faith due to her words, filled Celestine with a sense of pride and accomplishment; feeling as if she had the blessings of both the lord and grandfather surrounding her at all times. However, it was her faith that would soon lead her to greater strength and danger.
At the end of the year, Celestine found herself traversing a dense forest as she made her way to the next town. However, due to how thick the forest was, combined with a lack of distinguishable landmarks, Celestine found herself getting lost; and with the sun already setting, she knew she wouldn’t be able to find her way at all. As the possibility of being lost in the forest loomed over Celestine, she noticed several balls of light approaching her from the darkness of the trees. Staring at the balls of light, Celestine immediately recognized them as torches and immediately began approaching them, calling out for help. Upon reaching the source, Celestine was able to identify the s of the torches. The s were clad in odd armor and blue tabards adorned with a golden cross on the front. Upon seeing Celestine, the mysterious warriors drew the swords on their hips and proceeded to point their razor-sharp blades at the now frightened sheep, telling her to stay where she was. Following the orders thrown at her, Celestine stood still and refrained from making any sudden movements. One of the warriors told Celestine that she was tresing on sacred grounds and asked what her purpose was. Though scared, Celestine told the warriors that she was a saint traveling to spread the word of god and give faith to those in need. The warriors looked at Celestine curiously and told her that there was no way that she would be able to spread the word of god as there were few who were worthy of such a task. Despite the swords pointed at her, Celestine’s pride as a saint and faith caused her to say that she was indeed worthy of such a task. The warriors laughed at Celestine’s proclamation and told the sheep that their leader would be the judge of that. The warriors told Celestine to come with them so they could test the validity of her claims. Surrounding Celestine with their weapons at the ready, the warriors escorted the sheep through the dark forest. As Celestine was escorted through the forest, she asked the warriors various questions in regards to where they were taking her, with their responses being vague or outright silence. Due to the lack of answers, Celestine was beginning to feel more and more frightened; but despite her fear, she held firmly onto the belief that things would be alright.
After walking for a considerable amount of time, Celestine and the warriors finally reached a small village amongst a man-made clearing of trees. Upon entering the village, Celestine looked around to see various villagers and other fighters dressed in the same style of armor as her captors. As Celestine walked through the village, many of the villagers gazed at her curiously or glared at her intensely. The various looks she received in no way made her feel welcomed, a stark contrast to the feeling she got when visiting other towns. After reaching the heart of the village, Celestine was taken before a warrior who wore similar armor to her escorts, but with more decorative patterns. Still guarding Celestine, the warriors informed the elite fighter of their find, showing him Celestine in their custody. The presumed leader examined Celestine and in disgust, asked her who she was and why she was caught tresing on his town’s sacred land. Trying her best to steady herself, Celestine introduced herself and stated that she was merely on a holy mission. The leader laughed mockingly, claiming that whatever “mission” Celestine was on, it was heretical as he and his town were meant to carry out to will of god. Hearing the leader’s mocking tone and his insult towards her goal caused Celestine to assert herself as a follower of god and that her mission was in his name, proudly stating that she was a saint. The leader mocked Celestine again by proclaiming only the chosen people were to be both followers of god as well as the only ones destined to enter the eternal paradise, before reciting a scripture that emphasized his point. Immediately identifying the scripture, Celestine described how long she had studied to become a saint and even recited a scripture herself while simultaneously revealing her knowledge on the scripture the leader used. Hearing what Celestine said, the leader and everyone surrounding her were taken aback by the words she spoke. The leader, still somewhat shocked by Celestine, asked how she knew the word of the lord so well. Feeling a bit more at ease, Celestine told the leader again that she was a follower of god and that her mission was indeed holy. Curiously, the leader asked Celestine several questions and what her beliefs were; with Celestine answering each question as open and honestly as possible. As Celestine answered his questions, the leader’s initially disgusted expression gradually softened into a warm smile. After Celestine finished answering his questions, the leader told the other warriors to lower their swords and step back from the sheep as he got up from his seat and approached her. As the leader slowly approached her, Celestine felt her heart drop as she had no idea what was going to happen next, but tried her best to appear as calm as possible. The moment her intimidator got close, the leader placed his hands firmly on Celestine’s shoulders, only to pull her close for firm embrace afterwards. Though she was confused, Celestine did not utter a word, trying her best to process what was going on. Breaking the hug, the leader called out to all the villagers stating how another of god’s followers had made it into their midst. Everyone cheered and clapped upon hearing the news, with Celestine still in a state of bewilderment. As Celestine questioned what was going on, the leader told Celestine he would explain over a hot meal, stating that there was much to discuss as he pulled the sheep by her arm to one of the village’s larger buildings. Once inside, the leader sat the sheep down at one of the tables and proceeded to sit across from her as he signaled a nearby waitress and ordered several plates of food soon after. As Celestine and the leader sat awaiting their food, the latter asked once again what was happening, still unable to process what was going on. The leader laughed confidently as opposed to his mocking tone before, and told Celestine that she was a sign from god, another true follower of his word and will. While flattered by the leader’s words, Celestine thanked him for his words but asked where she was. The leader chuckled joyfully and apologized for not telling Celestine due to his excitement. Properly introducing himself, the leader told Celestine that he was the head of the Crusader village, a small town filled with devout followers and worshippers of god that sought to carry out the will of the almighty. The leader told Celestine that he and his people believed that the chosen people would be granted age into heaven and that it was refreshing to see another follower in Celestine. Celestine expressed elation at the town’s beliefs, but asked why she was treated as a prisoner upon her initial discovery. The leader apologized once again to Celestine, claiming that much of the forest was considered sacred ground and that he and his group would prevent anyone from defiling it, hence the initial hostility towards her.
Over the meal, Celestine and the leader talked at great length over various topics, with the latter insisting that the former spend more time at the village so that he could show her the town. Now feeling the same welcoming aura she felt when she visited other towns, Celestine gladly agreed. Overjoyed, the leader found a vacant home for Celestine to sleep the night at, while telling some of his followers to accommodate her with various necessities. That night, Celestine was able to rest a bit easier, happy that she not only found a place to sleep, but overjoyed she found others who shared a similar mindset to her. The next morning, Celestine awoke to the sound of someone knocking on the door, only to see it was the town leader who warmly greeted her, stating he wished to show her around the village just as he promised. Gladly agreeing, Celestine quickly got dressed and was treated to a meal by the leader before being escorted around the village. As the two walked around the village, Celestine felt more and more welcomed due to how friendly everyone appeared, with the leader introducing her as a “sacred guest”. As the tour continued, the two came across the church, which Celestine asked to visit. Upon stepping inside, Celestine noted how quant it was, but stated how it felt very welcoming. The leader, appreciating Celestine’s words, stating how frequently the people of the town would attend prayer sessions and how it was considered a very cherished time. Celestine, asked the leader if it would be alright if she gave a few sermons at the church, to which the crusader encouraged her to do so. Thanking the leader, Celestine expressed her excitement, with the former expressing his own. The leader told Celestine to enjoy her stay and told her to look about the town and interact with the other people. Following the leader’s suggestion, Celestine walked around town and began talking with the various people she met, most of whom greeted her warmly; and though her initial experience was worrying, she truly felt welcomed. Later that night, Celestine hosted a small sermon for some of villagers, which many people enjoyed and spoke ionately about. After her sermon, Celestine was approached by the town leader and told her how ionate her prayers and speech were, as they seemed to incite more ion in himself as well as the other towns people. Celestine thanked the leader for his kind words, and told the man that seeing everyone’s expressions and they listened to her, filled her with great joy and a desire to give more sermons. It was here that Celestine asked the town leader if it was alright if she spent more time in the village to help guide and teach others. This prompted the leader to express his utmost joy, stating Celestine was more than welcome to stay in the village, and that in truth he encouraged it, seeing her as a true follower of the lord’s word. Smiling brightly and expressing her gratitude, Celestine was ready to spend time in the village, feeling a sense of familiarity she hadn’t felt since she left Sacrus.
During the first month, Celestine lived her life comfortably in the small town and her life operated very similarly to how it did in Sacrus. As time went on, Celestine found herself spending some of her time tending to the activities of the church, hosting personally made sermons, and reading ages to some of the children and townsfolk by the old well. However, one day, Celestine was approached by the village leader, who immediately began complimenting her on the work she had done for the town, but asked if she would like to contribute more. Curiously, Celestine asked what more she could do for the village, which prompted the leader to smile. The leader told Celestine that her dedication to god was irable and told her that aside from faith, one must have a strong body in order to protect those who share in their beliefs. The leader asked Celestine if she would like to be a part of the Crusader’s forces, stating that he saw great potential in her. Though the thought had never crossed her mind, Celestine expressed her curiosity in the forces, but questioned the leader as to whether she would truly be helpful to the warriors of the village. The leader told Celestine that she would not only be assisting the soldiers of the town, but she would be helping to defend the people of the village; going on to state that her arrival at his town was clearly a sign from god. Thinking for a moment, Celestine said she would try out for the crusader’s forces, but voiced her doubt of her efficiency. The village leader smiled at Celestine and told her that the lord’s guidance would see to her success.
The next day, Celestine found herself at the village’s training grounds clad in rudimentary armor as she prepared to train alongside other warriors being inducted into the crusader’s forces. Though her initial start was poor due to lack of any former training, Celestine eventually found her footing and began to progress steadily as a warrior. Despite her continued training over the next couple of months, Celestine still held true to her duties as saint, but it was during her training she felt a greater desire to not just pray for others, but a resolve to defend them with her own hands. After half a year of training, Celestine was successfully inducted into the crusader’s forces, with the leader, other warriors, and townsfolk expressing their pride and appreciation. Though Celestine only intended to stay in the village for a couple months, her training and the stronger sense of justice her new position instilled in her, caused her to rethink her decision and stay longer so that she could use her newfound skill to defend the people of the village. For 3 years, Celestine stayed in the village and acted as both it’s saint and a fellow crusader; performing various deeds such as protecting the town and doing patrols in the surrounding forest for possibly threats and intruders, which fortunately did not come to . However, one day, Celestine along with all of the other crusaders were called into a meeting with the village leader. Curious as to what the issue was, Celestine was treated to news that made her rethink the last few years she spent in the village and made her heart sink. The leader told his fellow warriors on a plan to raid another group known as the clerics due to their “weakness” and due to them being unworthy of the eternal paradise. Curiously, Celestine asked why the leader believed they were unworthy. The leader told Celestine that the clerics did not follow the ways of the crusaders and believed them to be too weak, and thus unfit. Celestine then asked the leader if it was truly within their right to “judge” them, to which the man proudly proclaimed that the crusaders and everyone who lived in the village were worthy and chosen by god, stating how everyone who did not agree with their beliefs were heretics and needed to be “purged”. As Celestine listened to the words the leader spoke, a wave of despair swallowed her, chilling her to her to very core. Compounding her fear was a sense of betrayal as she trusted the people of the village, and hearing them all agree with the leader’s words, only made Celestine feel even worse. However, in addition to realizing that she had ed some form of cult, Celestine recalled her first encounter with the crusaders and quickly came to the conclusion, that had she not explained and proven herself, there was a strong possibility that she would have been killed. Realizing that she was in danger, Celestine dared not to question anything further or give the leader any reason to suspect her, knowing the consequences if that should come to given his words. After the meeting, Celestine left with an uneasy feeling in her heart; and knowing that anyone could possibly turn on her should her views conflict with theirs only filled her with sheer dread. Despite the initial comfort and the amount of time she had spent living in the village, Celestine felt an unwavering sense to leave before she was either deemed suspicious or forced to kill someone innocent. For the next few days, Celestine felt uneasy and thought of various ways she could escape the village. While running away seemed like the best option, Celestine knew she wouldn’t get far due to the number of soldiers, and that doing so randomly would spawn various questions that would possibly expose her. As Celestine though, she quickly came to an idea that was both a gamble, but had a fairly high chance of working; but in order for it to succeed, she would need to consult the town leader.
One day, Celestine approached the village leader, requesting an audience with him. Happy to see Celestine, the leader asked what she wanted, only for the sheep to tell him how she was concerned about “purging” the clerics. Raising an eyebrow, the village leader asked why Celestine was so concerned about the battle. Sensing slight suspicion, Celestine told the leader that she was concerned for the soldiers, stating that she wished to embark on a mission to find those she deemed worthy to not only help in the cleansing of those deemed unworthy, but to expand the crusader’s might. Though the words she spoke sickened Celestine, she tried her best to seem as convincing as possible. The leader expressed his intrigue with the concept, stating how Celestine’s idea was indeed good and that her efforts could prove very useful given the influence she had on the crusaders and townsfolk alike. Stating how much he liked Celestine’s idea, the leader advised taking a few soldiers with her. Knowing that this would make things a bit more difficult for her, Celestine told the leader that she preferred to go alone due to more soldiers possibly unnerving anyone she tried to judge. Stating that that was a possibility, the leader asked Celestine when she would be returning in roughly a year. Nodding the leader gave Celestine his consent to go on her journey and seek out more followers she deemed worthy enough. Thanking the leader, Celestine stated how she would do her best to find those that were worthy in the eyes of god; with the leader stating that he had utmost confidence in his fellow and trusted crusader. That same night, the village leader hosted a large gathering for the entire town, celebrating Celestine’s mission to bring more followers to the crusader rank. Despite the festive and celebratory atmosphere, Celestine could not truly enjoy the atmosphere; thinking of the possible deaths the crusaders caused filled her with conflicting emotions, but the one feeling that was most prevalent: was her desire to escape the village. Upon the celebrations’ conclusion, Celestine retired to her small home and began packing her belongings, relieved that daytime would bring her departure.
The next morning, Celestine gathered her belongings and prepared to leave the village, not before being stopped by multiple townsfolk who wished her luck on her endeavor or gifted her with presents to help her on her journey. As Celestine approached the gate, she was stopped by the town leader and various crusaders. The leader told Celestine that he knew she would return with valuable followers to add to their forces. Giving the leader a meek smile, Celestine said she would do her best; when in actuality, she had no intention of returning or sending anyone to possible die in the village. As the leader and the soldiers bid Celestine farewell, Celestine waved goodbye to the group. Due to her training and frequent patrols, Celestine was able to traverse the thick forest and make her way through the dense trees. Finally out of the forest, Celestine was able to breath a bit easier even though her mind was still a stir with both the situation she had escaped and the possible deaths that were caused by the group. Her mind still a bit jumbled from the thinking about the ordeal, Celestine felt it was best for her to go back home, feeling that her pilgrimage should come to an end. Over the next couple of days, Celestine traveled back to Sacrus where she was gladly welcomed by various citizens upon her return; but none were more welcoming than her parents and fellow church . However, various people were curious about the armor that Celestine adorned, with her usual response being that it was a gift, not wanting to tell the truth due to her mixed feelings towards the group in question.
Happy to be back at her home, Celestine told both her parents and fellow church about the towns she visited and what she did for the people there, sharing other stories of her travels as well. However, though happy, Celestine felt a bit of regret that she didn’t have a chance to possibly change the crusader and townsfolk’s views, shuttering to think about what might happen should anyone else stumble across them. Despite her feelings, Celestine kept her faith that one day their town would change and they would find another path, one that didn’t involve the “cleansing” of others. It was here that Celestine vowed to continue to guide people down the right path to salvation, with her determination propelled even further due to the influence of the crusaders.
Several months after her return, Celestine was ed by a mysterious individual who expressed an interest in her, claiming that she had great power within her, and though she was skeptical; she would soon find herself undertaking a much different mantle. Using both her faith and determination as a tool, Celestine was cast into the role of a holy warrior, sworn to an oath to keep her duties a secret from others. Beholding to this oath, Celestine worked tirelessly over the next 20 years to fulfil her new role, retiring after so that she could continue on her duties as a saint to the Grand cathedral, happy that she could not only defend others, but that she could guide and instill faith into those she protected; determined to continue on well into the future.
Personality: As a child, Celestine was a very sweet and caring girl who deeply valued her family, especially her grandfather who was both a constant influence on her and the catalyst for her gradual ascension as a woman of god. Although friendly and cheerful a majority of the time, Celestine was a bit of a worrywart and would get easily unnerved if not outright anxious if she sensed something was wrong or slightly amiss. While some of this can be attributed to her young age at the time, part of the reason was due to her wavering resolve and lack of faith. It wasn’t until her grandfather’s guidance that Celestine’s faith began to strengthen, allowing her move forward without much fear or worry in her heart.
Having matured and experienced so much, Celestine demonstrates various characteristics truly befitting of someone of her current position and age. As an adult, Celestine displays a more composed disposition while simultaneously retaining the same friendly mindset she had in her youth; with her caring side being heavily amplified by her benevolent pursuits and religious training. True to her position, Celestine is a Saint in both title and attitude; commonly exhibiting a comionate and virtuous air that is complimented by her amicable demeanor and ittedly soft-spoken nature. As to be expected of someone of her religious inclination, Celestine is a very courteous and humble individual who is very beholding to her role as a woman of god and has a deep desire to save and guide others. Like her grandfather before her, Celestine wishes to instill faith and hope into those she meets, so that they never lose heart in the face of hardship or adversity. In addition, Celestine has a deep desire to absolve people of their sins and redeem them in not just the eyes of god, but in the eyes of those around them. While this stems from her desire to see others itted into the eternal paradise; another reason for this is due to Celestine wanting the person to live a longer, happier, and more fulfilling life rather than one mired in sin and regret. It’s through her efforts that Celestine was able to redeem a variety of people, from shamed townsfolk, to troubled children, even rouge warriors; being able to give them new perspectives and goals that allowed them to move forward with more hope in their hearts and a desire to improve their lives. Celestine’s desire to help others is further ed by her emotional sensitivity, which is made very apparent during confessions and certain conversations. Celestine is very sensitive towards the plights of others to the point that there have been cases in which she has shed tears upon hearing how difficult it is for the person to surmount a daunting hardship; with there being various times in which she has intentionally interrupted a confession merely so she could embrace and console the person. Compounding this is Celestine’s ability to read people’s emotions, being able to sense when someone is upset or emotionally hurt so that she may better comfort and communicate with them.
Having interreacted with so many, Celestine has graciously accepted positions outside of her usual role as a saint in an effort to nurture and protect those around her. Despite taking on the mantle of a saint, Celestine tends to take on various roles depending on whoever she is associating with in order to better tend to them; having assumed the role of mentor, mother figure, caretaker, guardian, and more prevalently, a redeemer.
Despite how beholding she is to her faith, Celestine is remarkably accepting and understanding to the ideals of others, and never wishes to push her own beliefs onto someone else. She accepts that various people believe different things and never uses that knowledge as an excuse to force her views on someone else or to condemn them for not having the same viewpoint as her. Celestine cares very little about the differences between her faith when compared to someone else’s, openly accepting that her views may be different from another person’s and embracing that knowledge with open arms. The only time in which Celestine will so much as question someone’s belief is if it presents potential harm or danger to either innocent people or the person in question. This reluctance to see anyone hurt, let alone killed, lends itself to Celestine’s protective side as she will more often than not intervene into situations in which someone would get hurt; wanting nothing more than to keep someone safe and out of harm’s way. Its due to this attitude, that Celestine can express a more assertive temperament if she feels harm would come to innocent people. Though having a high amount of patience, Celestine has little tolerance when it comes to people either suffering or getting hurt, especially when it comes at the hands of someone else. In fact, Celestine has been known to express feelings of disgust towards those who senselessly commit atrocities and killings with little remorse or regard for others. While this isn’t portrayed in an overtly hostile fashion, Celestine’s speech can easily convey her disdain. An example of this would be her stating that she HOPES god will have mercy on someone, as opposed to her usual wish for the person to find peace.
In spite of her religious standing, Celestine is not completely free of sin, something that she has openly stated; and though ashamed by this fact, she accepts the reality of it especially due to her sinning being due to a righteous cause. The reason for this is due to Celestine occasionally accepting the role of a guardian and thus needing to protect others using force if her initial tactic of peaceful diplomacy were to fail. While Celestine has no genuine intention of harming anyone, she is willing to take up arms in order to protect others; and even then, her mannerisms still convey a sense of benevolence. This is clearly evident in that Celestine will try to disarm or disable an opponent by destroying their weaponry and equipment as opposed to trying to inflict bodily harm if at all possible. Its with this tactic that Celestine hopes to reason with the person and get them to listen to her words, preferring not to let the conflict escalate any further. Unfortunately, if the person refuses to back down and continues their assault, then Celestine will be forced into a position where killing the individual is unavoidable in order to protect someone or even herself. Regardless of the person, Celestine takes no pleasure in ending someone’s life, even if it’s for self-defense. Despite this, Celestine has stated that while she will never be used to killing, she has accepted it as an inevitability at times; and as such, always braces for the worst should the possibility present itself. However, even when forced into conflict, Celestine’s comionate side always manages to shine through. If placed into a position in which she is forced to fight, Celestine displays her benevolence by showing restraint and mercy to her opponents; preferring to end a fight as quickly as possible and avoid inflicting unnecessary suffering. If forced to kill, Celestine is always sure to say a prayer for the person afterwards, still demonstrating her desire for them to find salvation, even taking the time to dig a grave for them if the situation allows it. While the prayers act as a form of salvation for the people she kills, it also acts a request for forgiveness for Celestine herself. It should be noted that Celestine doesn’t attribute all of her actions to her faith such as in the case of combat. Celestine refuses to use her faith as a scapegoat to justify her killing someone, and instead expresses it as her own (albeit reluctant) choice to do so.
As Celestine has learned much in the ways of faith and righteousness, she is determined to save everyone in both body and spirit, using the blessings of her departed grandfather and god to guide her further, and her own hands to make this holy mission a reality.
A there you have it, a look into the holy looking glass at this lovely sheep. This was an awesome ref sheet done by good friend Jessicaelwood (matymaty as she goes by now). I hope you all enjoy and be on the lookout for this saintly sheep in the future!
*TRIVIA: One of the initial concepts for Celestine was to have her be a born and raised crusader who defied the beliefs of her group. The idea was later changed.
