Normally I put more emphasis on the character’s. I being sad the boxes were so small that I could only fit so much into them.
But now? I’m kinda relieved and don’t care as much.
I tried to put a bit more focus on the backgrounds in some of the pieces. Mainly because they became more the character overtime.
I’ve grown into a place as an artist where I start to put together a background before putting in characters. 3 pieces on here, I going ‘let’s just put these colors together’ and use it in a gradient filling.
After that, I continued and a bigger image was made.
I always wanted to be able to do backgrounds growing up, and it wasn’t until over 10 years ago I was able to make that a reality.
I felt it was this year I realized how to combine brushes and strokes to make the textures and images appear how I wanted. I couldn’t be happier. ♥
Note: October’s image was actually done in July. It was a private piece I only showed one person, and I never cared to it anywhere. Mainly because it was far too personal to do so. (On an emotional scale). I felt like it’s fine if I bend the rules for that one. October was a rough month, hard to get any art done.
What’s funny is how I did the hair there.. it makes me feel like I drew a scene fresh out of The Last Unicorn movie. ♥
