Worldbuilding assistant for hire

It's been a while since I posted the last lot, but here's the second half of the commission Ryan Nieto made for me!
I sometimes hire an artist to draw something based on the worldbuilding I write, so as such my worldbuilding works as a prompt. From there, The artist inevitably brings some fresh perspective to my worldbuilding by drawing my commission in a way I wouldn't have thought of, and I pick up again from there by doing further worldbuilding around their art, to really welcome the species they drew for me into my lore.
Here's what I wrote for these 5 mushrooms:
6 - Skin stars. The aquatic equivalent of the scab cap, and just as nasty if you get an infection of it under your skin.
7 - Upside down cap. Closely related to the desert waxlobe, and grows in the desert. Its stalk grows in a curve so that in the mature fruiting body, the cap is upside down with the gills presented to the open air. Dew forms on the gills overnight and in the morning, when the dew evaporates, the mushroom's spores are carried away with it
8 - Palm fungus. A semi-specialist that grows within the roots of my species of laceroot. For this reason it is usually found on river banks. Its gills are long, loose, and detach from the mushroom easily. This allows them to drop into the river where they are carried downstream (or upstream for tidal rivers).
9 - Sunhorn. This mushroom smells of ripe bananas! Small and medium-sized animals come in search of the source of the sweet smell but find this mushroom instead. It isn't particularly palatable so these animals usually take one or two bites from it before giving up and moving on. Later, the spores from the bites they took are dropped in their faeces.
10 - Needle fungus. The cap of this mushroom is covered with waxy barbs. At the opposite end of each barb, buried deep inside the mushroom itself, is a single spore. If an animal happens by and is caught by a barb, it pulls the barb free and the spore comes with it. The barb is lightly poisoned with a harmless yet painful toxin, so animals tend to be in a hurry to remove the barb.
And that's the last of my mushrooms! In the coming weeks I'll develop more lore about each and we'll see in more detail how they fit into the Kaleida ecosystem.
Possible ret-cons: None for now, although I am interested in introducing colour to these fungi and the ones on page 2, which I'll post up soon.
