What Dark Link looks like in my AU fanfic, "KILL HIM!!" https://archiveofourown.org/works/4.....ters/108899748
I wanted his outfit to resemble what I was wearing in the youtube video this AU is based off of with the arm warmers. I also wanted him to be in an ambiguous timeline, where it's close to modern Earth, but still retains heavy elements of fantasy. I'd say this mystery timeline is adjacent to both Breath of the Wild, and A Link to the Past at the same time (not sure how to explain how that works yet; think of two lines from those eras branching off sideways into this era with all the paradoxes and time rifts required to make those points in the timeline mesh together into this universe. You know what, let's just say Homestuck logic is how it works. It's literally just Homestuck logic.)
The fic was intended to be a "horrific comedy," where the sense of humor comes from genuine horror as opposed to "comedic horror" where the scary parts are actually funny. It feels more depressing right now, though. Like Dark is getting his soul siphoned by a possessed doll version of Link and there's no significant interaction with anyone else, symbolizing how lonely and desolate his situation is.
