If the Novawyrm's shell is too badly damaged, the soul will enter in a state of void form called "The Voidwyrm." The Voidwyrm will devour all matters around itself in a pained attempt to repair its shattered shell and resume its cosmic soul's growth. If that ever came to happen, I cannot say the Worldwyrm Terhana would be safe.
There are risks in halting a cosmic titan's growth.
