It's honestly about time that I made a custom commander for everyone's favorite apprentice detective, but man it was tough to think of a design that both suited him and didn't tread on the very thoroughly explored territories of either Izzet or Jeskai-colored commanders.
Even though I could justify his personality as a Jeskai commander, I opted to instead stick to Izzet, at least for now. I choose this "anti-storm" effect, that damages opponents as they cast spells, to both play on the "Eye of the Storm" title and sell his fighting style that combines storm magic with self-taught street brawling and the martial arts he's learned at the Magistrum.
I might keep tweaking this, but for now, I'm happy with it.
